  1. So is it the recruiters or spy's that do the ground work to find these kids?
  2. Godemons, better to save him until next year's nominations. He might be a chance to win it. We could have quite a few up for nomination next year. I hope so!
  3. 2001. He also kicked a century in 2000. But he played finals in those years. For further info go to: - http://stats.afl.com.au/public/statistics/person.shtml
  4. How was when he was cramped on his left on the run on the weekend. Kicked with his right over 35/40m to inside 50 straight down I think Bruce's throat. He can kick both feet no problem.
  5. Was Tim Gosage one of the commentators Rogue? One scribe this morning on SEN suggested the Mfc players had come back from a function, dressed....(perhaps tongue in cheek)
  6. It is well said and I agree. It's a matter of finding an alternative way. Is their an alternative way for sacrificing for glory? Rpfc, Would you go ahead and sacrifice the Best & Fairest or the Second Best & Fairest for 2008? Because that is what you are essentially saying.... And would you Rogue?
  7. No, chook, read it again. All I said was I thought Lloyd was the last to kick a ton, and Yze_M chimed in saying that it was Gehrig, that's all. We don't know yet the answer to your question. Even if it has happened or not.
  8. Had to laugh. - "stealing"
  9. Who said we didn't have natural leaders?!
  10. Well, there you go. Ol' Fraser!
  11. Good question. Someone will know, unfortunately I can't help you with that curly one. All I know is its been a while since a ton was kicked. I think Matty Lloyd was the last. But it could well be the first time ever if both do it in Round 22. When Dunstall and Lockett were going at it hammer and tongs they may have gone close, but I doubt whether it was in the same game or even same round.
  12. I reckon if we can get Jack Watts by the draft he just might be our future Captain. I've heard him talk too. He will be a leader of men.
  13. Yep. Too agile and quick for the Weagles.
  14. 2008 by reports is one of the best assembled in terms of quality. Sadly we won't be around to know if its the greatest of all time, football will go on and on....
  15. For the record Lance Franklin is on 94 goals. Brendan Fevola 90 goals. Hawthorn have West Coast (Subiaco) this week. Carlton have Brisbane (Gabba). Then Hawthorn and Carlton both meet at Telstra Dome, Round 22. For me I think Franklin could do it this week against West Coast, although Darren Glass might have a say in that. If he doesnt against the West Coast he will definitely get the ton against Carlton. Fevola needs 10. If he doesn't get 5 or more this weekend I think he might fall just short IMO. With the people running out, I think it is a disaster just waiting to happen. All it takes is one person (lunatic), sure the players will try and protect the player concerned, but they shouldn't have to, it is their workplace, not the general publics. Should the AFL look at a hefty fine or life ban perhaps? Do we need to erect fences along the boundary? Because that will come if some lunatic decides to go out and hurt a player. How many people or opposition supporters don't like Brendan Fevola? What if someone broke his jaw when running out after he kicked a ton? The AFLPA, and AFL will come down hard because of legalities, fences might be considered... Your thoughts....
  16. $100. Swish. C'mon Demons!
  17. $23.5 Billion! Yeah I see him alot. The coach, Scolari (is that right) would of cost a bit wouldn't he? Looking at the side, Ballack, Anelka, Cech, Terry, Cole & Cole, Lampard (new 5 year contract), that new Portuguese player, etc and yet they still have Drogba and Schevchenko on the sidelines!
  18. There is still contested footy and contested marking where it counts....up in the forward 50. He'll be important in this part of the ground.
  19. I agree with your summary of a third world midfield and I see Moloney in the same light. Valenti, impresses me more and more. Not classy but blue collar, strong and whilst still a fringe player may be given his chance with a contract. With improvement and consistency and effective disposal he may put pressure on guys like Moloney....at selection and when it comes to the list
  20. I know. I almost broke my leg, kicking the seat in front of me. Thank god no one was sitting in it. But will they get it right? That is even more frustrating.
  21. Thanks for those stats Neita, very interesting. Do you have Geelong's by any chance? It would be interesting to see where they are at - when at the 'peak of their powers'. Carlton are thereabouts also. See the figures above by Neita. Freo are retiring a few this year, next year they will be much younger on average.
  22. So the Dees wanted to win too much....is that a crime? It was our window in that period, particularly '04-'06. Even though there was a lock on the window which faltered towards the end of each of those seasons.... Paying the price? Yes. The writing was on the wall at the end of 2006. Changes needed to be made to the list, as it turned out, Daniher held on too long into 2007. DB and Co. turned the list over on the back of a few retirements, the same will happen this year. A 'new dawn' awaits for us diehards next season.
  23. Yep. Maric, Martin and Warnock all good. Martin - I can see the "footy smarts" in him. And cool? He is like Ice! Nickname: "ICE?" First year. 2006.
  24. Hope you are spot on. And the Tigers can finish 9th. Again. PS. How was your vacation? Could of been mine. . Look, your above description I could not agree more or praise his ability to be able to manouevre through heavy traffic. I liken his reflexes in close - to a James Hird.
