I won't pick this appart Redleg, for they are approximates. Just on Marc Murphy, did I hear right on SEN, that he still has not signed with Carlton yet? I know they probably will sign him, as he finished 2nd in their B&F. But geez they better finish signing him up. Before the wolves start circling. Imagine if he slipped through to a club.......
-
Joeboy , your answer is in the bold, above ^. He won B&F in '99, 3 years after his third reconstruction.

Coaches cliche's: One week at a time, We've ticked a few boxes, We'll concentrate on this week, It comes down to attitude. Forum posters cliche's: Needs a full pre-season under his belt,....anymore?

Yeah, I'm over it now... but it hurts... bring on the trade and draft periods i say! PS. BB - have a question for you, here's the link if you haven't read it yet. Question is "Will this have an impact on the mfc?" http://forums.demonland.com/index.php?showtopic=11803

1994 we were close. We came up against the Premiers that year in West Coast. 1998 was the year for me with Neitz, Lyon, Schwarz and Farmer and not to mention a young Russell Robertson. But it was not to be unfortunately, we met the Kangaroos in full flight. We entered that final series after a thumping win over Richmond at the G in front of over 70,000. And we remember a young J.Farmer riding on gazza's 'hairy' back.

Three knee re-constructions. Cruel that he was cut down in his prime. The 1st weekend of the '94 finals series against a second placed Carlton with Melbourne having finished 7th was his most memorable game. He turned Peter Dean inside out with a blind turn and bouncing before kicking a goal straight through the middle. He went on to miss virtually the next 3 seasons. He returned for 2 games in 95, missed 96 before playing 10 games in 97, 18 games in 1998 and then played a full year in '99 winning the Best & Fairest a much 'bulkier' player, and did alot of bullocking in packs for his teammates. Continued to play good footy in 2000 and played in Melbourne's Grand Final loss to Essendon. He put James Hird on his back in aggressive fashion before copping it from Dean Wallis & Co. 173 games. 243 goals. Garry Lyon has stated in the past that he believes David Schwarz was one of, if not the best player at the club in his time.

Just thought I'd give you a bit more information on the topic as you've only recently signed on, thats all. With respect to D.Zaharkis, he is impressive, I hope you are right because I had Zaharkis at pick 17. We need pace. Him and/or Blease.
-
With Pick 1 we will get Watts, 17 and 19 might be required to obtain pace mids or perhaps a Ruckman now as Warnock has nominated Carlton his preferred choice of club. You are quite right it is wishful thinking for our list to achieve 12th or better next year - Believe me, I don't like saying this but we fave to face reality. It will take more than 4 years to be considered anywhere near a tilt at a flag IMO. To build a team of quality as you say will take a while, and as it stands it was a real coup in Carlton getting Judd last year - it's as if it attracts more quality - much like a flock of seagulls, and Pratt has the bag of Hot Chips.

For the record Addam, have a look at this link: - It has plenty of information on draftees, and you will get a better picture, my thoughts are in this thread too: - http://forums.demonland.com/index.php?showtopic=11446

C.Ronaldo will start back in October and still win the Golden Boot IMO. He's that good.
-
Zaharkis will go well before pick 17. Fwiw, I agree with Redleg
-
Some big changes in my opinion: - 1 Geelong 2 Hawthorn 3 Adelaide 4 St Kilda 5 Brisbane 6 Carlton 7 Collingwood 8 Kangaroos ---------------------- 9 Richmond 10 Port Adelaide 11 W_Bulldogs 12 West Coast 13 Fremantle 14 Sydney 15 Essendon 16 Melbourne 4 wins - priority picks 1 & 2
-
Fair dinkum? Well we have pick 1, I'm sure that will happen That's forward thinking..........
-
This is what I'm talking about. Further scrutiny required.
-
he has Hampson covered. Kreuzer will predominantly play up forward, giving him 1st crack at ruck.
-
AN awkward kicking style much like his uncle.....hehe. James will turn 21 years of age on Preliminary Final weekend (Saturday to be precise ), has shown steady progress. He's a big lad, designed to be perhaps a gorilla in defence. Still a fair bit of maturing to go. Let's see him progress further as he increases his strength, endurance, and skills.
-
Indeed. I hope they screw Carlton into the ground. This will snow ball and may even entice Kerr to Carlton. MEMO: WAKE UP AFL AND SMELL THE ROSES! SOMETHING STINKS!! SEND MORE INVESTIGATORS TO OPTUS OVAL. PRATT's PALACE AND VISY.
-
No he won't, people can come in their droves to watch Jack Watts apply his trade from an early age. Nice imagination though Neita.......Walt Disney is funding a new movie their making, there after just these types of imagination for a new blockbuster! You can call them on 1800IMAGINE.

Can I ask, what are the heights we hoped for Sylvia to reach when drafted in 2003? (This is an open question to anyone willing to answer too) I understand his health has been patchy, I would be interested to know just what "we" expected of him, that's all. (There have been some flop No.3's and some outstanding No.3's).
-
Chris Bond is trying to pump him up so much........ He won't come cheap. Stephen Icke has an urgent meeting with Warnock's manager coming up.... http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tab...px?newsId=67492

Daniher adopted the run and carry game plan in '07 because the previous plan which suited the players at the time in '04-'06 was identified not to be enough for that next step and opposition sides were awake to this. Once he adopted the '07 plan, which mind you- is a good game plan if you have the quality players to make it effective- but it failed. And it has never been more evident again earlier this year. Now, when it was evident this year that the side was still coming to grips with the game plan (and they still are), then key injuries took its toll, more young players were introduced and key senior players were approaching the end of their tether. Compounded by huge losses, and just 3 wins - all these factors are what is best described as Bottoming Out.
-
And yet if they do a back flip and allow them to play. And they lose. It will be forever used as an excuse that they played them. Either way, they'll cop it.
-
Correct. Well summed up. It was rather an inevitablity as you say. Good Post The Shaft.
-
Well i guess that's it then.... if he's believed to be wanting to go to Carlton, they're dead set favourites to get him unless he changes his mind.

Yep. You would think Connolly and Schwab will be catching up with those they know at Freo. Telling them to deal "with us!" edit: "Please!"
