  1. Wow. This one has been dug up. Interesting reading some views prior to Christmas 2006 on where they saw Melbourne's List for the 2007 season. With over 70% thinking Melbourne's list was good enough challenge for the premiership in '07. The list was certainly viewed differently after the season commenced. Even now.
  2. Wayne Campbell is their forward coach. Ox just goes down to help Wayne occassionally.
  3. With repect to Carlton, if they do offer a second round draft choice, the Dees should have them covered. Unless they are able to trade to get a late first round pick. I can't see them giving up their current first round pick. So the AFL should have cleared the dees in relation to their meeting. Now they can put all their resources into investigating Carlton and any contact they have with Warnock's family members and keeping a look out for sweetners, such as appartments, job offers, etc.
  4. Because he is what he is...that is, Chris Judd. If you have a chance to secure the best, when he even admitted a short list of his choice - including Melbourne, you explore avenues. It didn't work out, he chose VISY. End of Story.
  5. The club seems to keep me well updated with injury news, and had done so over last pre-season through emails. What other information did you want to find out? What colour jocks they wore over preseason?
  6. Bottoming out = coming to the realisation that the older players aren't going to take the club to the next level or aren't going to sustain competitive football of what is required. Hence playing alot of first gamers, trying various positions and fast tracking new developing players. In addition, the retirement of stalwarts and veterans, a large turnover of the list in successive years. That's what has happened mo.
  7. Pratt and Judd would be seen as the Ace and King, Fevola the Joker....
  8. How do you know it was at the request of the club?
  9. You would think it would be the former, Caro's mis-calculation, it doesn't add up. Surely we couldn't be led up the garden path and told porkies...
  10. http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tab...px?newsId=67461 Great news, all but a few will have a full preseason under their belt.
  11. Right now, I think the MFC sole focus would be on Robbie Warnock and the draft picks they have up their sleeve in 1,17,19,35,51,67. Other than that, they could be looking at trading a player to another club in return for a reasonable late 1st round or early second round draft pick, in exchange with one of our 3rd or 4th round draft picks 35 or 51.
  12. A positive article indeed. Am I right in saying that if there were no Debt Demolition campaign, MFC would be over $7m in debt? How did the figure blow out to as much as $3.2m loss this year? It's gradually gone up in reports over the course of the season starting with $1m loss. Unbelieveable. Staggering. Looks like we'll have to keep donating. Dee-lighted about the reference to the AFL reminding the MCC in strong terms of its obligation to the club that had an integral role in the stadium's heritage. Absolutely dee-lighted about that one.
  13. Neita3000, as I have read from the Herald Sun paper today on Warnock, Steven Icke was quoted: - "When we did our list analysis at the end of the year, we realised we could do with the services of a ruckman to build our midfield stocks and we've been looking at the options available for us to fill that position." Carlton are after a specialist tap ruckman to compliment Kreuzer. I guess Hampson and Cloke will be feeling a bit edgy now.
  14. In an awful season, Miller's progress was one of the shining lights. He has been somewhat a tease in his time for the Dees. 2004 was probably his best season until 2008. With Miller being given different tasks in between which may or may not have unsettled his form. He's no Carey or Brereton, as some wish of him as they are waiting for him to 'break out' and take that next step - a big step at that. That won't happen after 110 games. He had a couple of big games this season, notably the Brisbane game and his contested mark in the goal square. When he takes control and backs himself and has confidence he looks great. However, when he marks and dishes off a handpass (as he has done many a time) he looks hesitant and doesn't seem to have the confidence to make his own decision to kick forward of play. After this year, bailey seems to have got thorugh to him in improving his game and confidence. I hope another pre-season under Bailey's tutelage will improve him to a Key Forward that could double this years tally of 26 goals from 16 games.
  15. How long is long term option?..I wouldn't say he got alot better this year. In fact Meesen is treading water. But he will be assessed next year, if he doesn't pull through he'll then be on thin ice.
  16. Money talks.....
  17. I like the term 'cultivate'....., it would definitely be in their interest (Freo's interest) to turn the situation into a frenzy. Brain wash? I'm sure Carlton will be doing some cultivating of their own..... <_<
  18. You've expressed interest in getting Tom Williams, Robbie Warnock, Brent Prismall, thre may have been one or two others.....I can't see how we can possibly get all of these in this trade period coming.
  19. Jess Sinclair gone. http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tab...px?newsId=67442
  20. It used to be Essendon and Collingwood - my two most hated sides. In the space of 12 months Carlton has leap frogged them and are streets ahead!!
  21. I think they're coming to that conclusion right now, if they are fair dinkum with their own analysis. When there is talk of trading Daniel Wells & Daniel Harris you know the Roos are on the skids. I can't see them bottoming out like us though. They've already got games into kids who are competitive who impress.
  22. Correct. Fox sports are reporting that Carlton have confirmed they will make a play for R.Warnock. So, it's up to Robbie... I hope we can change his preference, clearly Carltank (VISY) are chasing him like hound dogs.
  23. So, clashing personalities are the reason. They should be locked in a room and told not to come out until sorted out. <_< Thanks for the information Suzanna. How many numbers does the cheer squad have by the way? What price do other clubs have for cheer squad membership in comparison? If it is cheaper at other clubs, perhaps the mfc should follow suit, it may increase numbers.
