Three champions mentioned so far in West, Neitz and Buckley. Buckley would continue his commitments with Seven I'd imagine. I think the short list in West or Neitz would be pretty close to the mark. I was hoping for Scott West a while back. Could be the midfield coach.

Nathan Brown to play with Casey Scorpions next year
H_T replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
True. Good people such as N.Brown are invaluable for the Casey Footy Club. Would be great for the alignment. -
One of my favourites early 90's, was great to see him get to somewhere near his best in '98. One of the fittest footballers going around at his peak. A clone of him or even three, would be very handy at present.

I suppose there is no real need to bowl himself when the seamers/quicks are bowling the right line & length on the green deck in Brissy.

Nasher, what were you hoping for, flannel shirts & King Gee shorts to get the job done? Schwab stated on Sunday that he was happy with these appointments, more importantly they have red & blue flowing through their veins, so in Schwab's opinion they won't walk when it gets tough, they're in for the long haul. Most times, when you work at it, you get out what you put into it. I think these appointments show that the club is fair dinkum in getting what is best for the club. Yes, we're in massive financial strife, we've stripped it back to 92.5% TPP. The board is watching what they spend. Inch by Inch, step by step.

I hope we get rich too...the club that is, then we'll be able to wipe the debt and build large foundations for the club. Oh, I hope we get Watts too.

Any chance this "peanut of a thread" will be deleted soon mods? My apologies, just getting sick of seeing his name on these forum boards.... Can I mount a case for CJ's threads too while I'm at it?... And Warnocks, Judds,....,..., . . .. . . .. ....anything to do with Carlton or VISY,.., ,.. .lol. edit: -

Sure. And his bowling. Yay!

De32, what is your opinion of Shoenmakers and Blease? Where do you see them taken in terms of numbers?

Was just announced on SEN, Ben Cousins released a statement acknowledging the AFL's decision to grant him permission to re-register and nominate for the draft to play again in the AFL. More importantly he acknowledged the special conditions set out by the AFL and looks forward to resuming his career.

Melbourne's picks: 1, 17, 19, 35, 51, 64, 76 My selections: 1 Watts - fwd/h-fwd/kpp 17 Blease - mid/pace 19 Shoenmakers - fwd/h-fwd/kpp 35 Zaharkis - mid/pace 51 Redden (slide) ruck 64 still looking 76 still looking

That is ridiculous if true. A real slap in the face. They had picks 65, 80 and 85 to offer. Shifty VISY associates...

Clearly.....McLean is our best midfielder.

Well well well. Gilchrist himself couldn't see how Symonds could get a start against the Kiwi's in the first test. Tbh neither could I based on his form which has been nothing short of poor. Will this decision put some noses out of joint? It remains to be seen. IMO Watson and Krezja both performed well, at the very least were the best of the bowlers last test in India. Its very unfortunate for one of them to miss. Regardless of the state of the wicket in Brisbane being reportedly greener than ever. IMO, I would consider Brett Lee to be very fortunate on being selected, for 2 good reasons: - 1/ His bowling form - out of sorts in India. 2/ Had virus, has lost several kilos - like M.Clarke - despite now improved health. Could do with a break before a long summer.

Good post Roost it. Eleven positive points. :D

Could not agree more!
-
Certainly would.
-
It is really. But it is adhering to the conditions set out by the AFL. Ie. Three urine tests a week, 4 hair tests a year, etc. AFL insists conditions for Ben Cousins' return are 'non-negotiable'

For sure 45h. When the economic crisis started to hit in NY, Vlad - much like Rudd - initially brushed aside concern and stated it was all systems go for the GC17 and West Sydney projects whilst most if not all in sundry eered caution. Probably because they thought Australia's economy was so strong at the time and that Australia could ride this international crisis out. Now it seems after many sleeps and of Vlad's ultra strength hot Cocoa's, he can now see that the global crisis is now some concern. And that the AFL, like all businesses are not immune from it. It's now certainly significant risk to the "$$ Spending Splurge" which he has in the pipeline, so to speak for GC17 & WS18. Its amazing what happens when the AFL seek professional advice.

Indeed. A year ago to the day.

This idea was proposed on Sunday Roost. Its a good idea IMO.

2010.

Apart from the fact that he is 30yo, I totally agree. Next. IMO his body will fail him from now on. That's IF he plays. An aside: - If Ben Cousins seriously wants to play AFL and resurrect his footy career, he should have no hesitation in abiding by the conditions put before him by the AFL as stipulated yesterday during the announcement by Mike Fitzpatrick and Alex Demetriou. Saying the conditions are 'too much' or 'too hard' are grounds for concern and must send a warning signal to perspective clubs wanting to pick Cousins up in the draft. If he assures those clubs he is now clean and intends to remain clean he should have no objection to the on going drug conditions, regardless of the fact there are 6 players out there on two strikes. As he is seen as a "special case".
