  1. Clarified a bit better. It works. That's right, "if" it did happen as you say you voted McLean/Miller. I clarified it a little better anyway. I hope I have now clarified it a bit better for you three. So, even if you did Vote "NO" , you still have the option to vote co-captains "IF" you even voted YES.
  2. There has been much talk on the Captaincy issue for 2009 and beyond, here is a chance to "vent your spleen!" Have a vote and if you disagree or support anything, go for it! Let it all out! Personally, I have stated many-a-time I think our next Captain should be Brock McLean. Mainly because our club has seen so much change in the last 12 months and the club is putting things in place for the future. With a replenished young list I believe the club needs to make another bold move and appoint a new Captain. One who is a courageous leader of young men, who sets the tone on the field where the game is won, but is also well respected. But that's my view. What is yours?
  3. I think the Mfc have a fair idea who they will take with the PSD pick by now, they're probably just doing their due diligence as usual and finalising the rookies to be drafted.
  4. Looks good. Wonder why he got overlooked? Him and Rockliff are both two good options.
  5. Maybe, good observation.
  6. Correct, same for me too.. Magnificent effort by High Tower on that occassion.
  7. Yes, certainly keeps his feet from what I've seen.
  8. I noticed that too. Sam Blease out-leaped Nik Nat.
  9. That's what I thought...
  10. Tom Rockliff 4 PSD - thanks to the highlight package posted by Wise Monkey.
  11. "up there with Peverill and Ling"
  12. I find that hard to believe. "He doesn't lead by example" on the field? Brock? Did you watch his games this season?
  13. Sometimes it's fun to jump over when form warrants it, like I have stated repeatedly he needed to turn his form around pronto. At least I'm not stuck on the fence.
  14. 6/ I'm sold on him too. Agree. On top of: - 1/ Major sponsor or two. 2/ Rivers back - as in back on ground and inform. (not an injured back) 3/ Pre-season injury free 4/ Debt free 5/ West to have a big impact in our midfield 6/ See above ie. Tom Rockliff for PSD. 7/ Brock - Our new Captain
  15. Will be a solid defender I have no doubt. He needs more time to develop, and with that will come confidence. He's a chip off the ol' block, a few more spuds and he'll be right to go. Quick for his size, honest player in the making. More opportunities will come his way if Rivers cannot get back on the park. Daniel Bell has been around longer.............
  16. My thoughts precisely.
  17. I like "Jack" fwiw.
  18. Nice report Alpha, thanks for recording it.
  19. Good article by Thommo. Good to see Watts gets the thumbs up by Riewoldt according to Thommo. I'm sure that would have been an absolute monty, anyway.
  20. Good write up WJ. Jackovich was an enigma on the field, burst on to the scene in scintilating fashion. 200 odd gaols in 47 games. Remarkable. Rockliff looks a good option. Got a good left handed handball on him. Uses both feet well. Presents well up forward. Thanks for that link Wise Monkey.
  21. I've already stated my opinions, I hope those fence pailings don't have to many splinters...
  22. I can't believe this thread is still persisting. Cousins has certainly polarised the community. Answer: All over.
  23. I'll certainly take your opinions on board, because I can certainly see why you both disagree. But I will stick to my opinion. I can see Watts debuting early in the season despite his year 12 studies. And I'd like to think at some stage in the first half of the season, Strauss, Blease, Jetta & Bennell will have all debuted. I don't think that is unreasonable at all. And I wouldn't mind in the slightest if I was found to be wrong, because I look forward to all their debut's. I recall tipping Grimes to debut before the '08 season finished too. For the record.
  24. I'm very surprised if he's getting abused wherever he goes. He doesn't deserve that if it's true. IMO QueenC, had he failed to get a wicket in Adelaide he would of gone very close to being dropped. But that's all water under the bridge now. He looked much sharper and his old self at Adelaide. He was even the one bowler to extract reverse swing on the Adelaide pitch in the Test. Just remember its just an opinion QueenC. I understand the difficulty he must be going off the field, especially with the demands and consumed time of the travelling & playing, etc with the Australian Cricket Team. And I hope things turn for the better in that regard. I also understand the virus and fitness thing. It was my opinion at the time he should have been rested after the India tour too. That would have been the smartest thing to do I believe. It also would have given him more time to be with his child. M.Clarke also suffered from a virus, and I believe should have been rested too. As it turned out he played one of the better innings for the Aussies. Fwiw, I'm not attacking him personally or anything for he's one of the best bowlers Australia has produced. I hope he goes on to have a bumper summer.
