No.2? :D They are too. Capable of taking some great grabs.....
-
Not really concerned with 'yesterday', let's look forward to the Mfc's future.... . Great post Redleg. Would of been an awesome tour with Connolls. Well done. Now I know how you identified Miller's stubble..
-
Geez Redleg. You've got good eye sight looking at the above photo then. Identifying stubble...
-
No. You didn't say they are useless but you did say you have serious question marks over those players in comparison to McLean, without identifying these traits in your post. That is whats 'astounding'. You accuse me of fence sitting? Even more astounding. Had you read my first post at the start of this thread I created you would identify with EASE at to who I believe should be named Captain. Get your facts right before you attack with your own SLANDER to fellow posters. How ironic since your signature is 'wtf is slander'. Look who's the twerp now.

Firstly, thankyou for all the votes. This poll offers a clear indication that firstly, Brock McLean is the preferred Captain by far, and that a Co-captain policy is not wanted. Brad Green also received some little support for the Captaincy. When asked for a preferred Co-Captain option despite a Yes or No answer, the three leading options all involved Brock McLean. Further indication that Brock McLean is the preferred next Captain of Melbourne for 2009 from members of Demonland with over 134 votes registered. Those selected were McLean/McDonald, McLean/Miller, McLean/Green.

Has Miller shaved his head like Jones?

Merging the ferals with the filth, now that's an idea. It will also see the benefit of improved crowd numbers at AAMI.

The RFC website will go into meltdown this afternoon. Members are voting with their messages and imporing the tigers to select Cousins tomorrow.
-
I thought it was D.Gourdis.
-
There is no pick 7 now M2W.
-
Tiger supporters will EAT ALIVE their club tomorrow if Richmond don't select Cousins with pick 6.
-
Who Valenti? Not so sure about that one.

Thanks for the updates Dexter and Melbman. Great update on Jack too. Question: I know he's good, but why are so many assuming Jack will be playing on the wing? I can understand in the centre on the ball, or up Forward, but the wing?
-
Certainly do have a point realist. JimmyC is wrong to question the likes of Miller, Bruce, McDonald & Green on how they portray themselves and the club and as onfield leaders . They each do it just as well as McLean in there own onfield role. I can't see how JimmyC can question them when he has identified not seeing the inner workings of leadership within the club himself. Astounding.

You've said in a number of posts Mo that our list isn't suited to Bailey's game plan. You've also stated previously that you don't really know what Bailey's game plan is. Hmmm. You seem to be very negative with 1/ Our list and 2/ the game plan to suit our list. May I add that our list and game plan are evolving. It is never ending Mo. It is always evolving. Much like the game itself. No one can sit still. From the rule makers, the rule committee, to the coaches and development, fitness staff, recruiting. Everything Mo is evolving and moving with time. Regarding the "fat arse types" that you say- and as AOB pointed out - are not suited to the counter attacking style. Mate look, a football side is made of many types. In and under types, to receivers, to line breakers, to fat arse types, to "hard at it" types to champions. There needs to be a team of a variety of players that will compliment one another. Prior to the draft we were - and you would acknowledge this Mo - lacking leg speed and skillful quality players that have great kicking skills and what I call quality football nous. They've identified this and picked the likes of Blease, Strauss, Bennell and Jetta. These types of players Mo will help with the counter attacking footy we want and when these guys blend into the team it will compliment the in and under "fat arse types" like the Jones' or McLeans or Moloneys. Lets see with this injection of the ingredient the Mfc lacked in (speed & skill), how it compliments with the elements we know already exist. Sure there are still required needs like another tall forward (perhaps) and maybe a place for another ruckman. Which we know we need. But we have to wait on this. And I hope its not too long, because to have a good strong and vibrant list you need a list that plays alot of football together, ie similar age bracket (nucleus) with a mix of a few experienced players and good youngsters. Bailey & Co. are trying to do this Mo. You might not see it yourself yet, but the ball is rolling.

I'd like to know why Mo all of the sudden went quiet on the topic he raised of his belief of Bailey's game plan which he says is "fraught with failure." In his response to Axis of Bobs post. Its on page 2 if anyone or Mo needs to re-cap. Better yet here it is in summary now on page 3 Mo : -

Excuse the french Pates, but it reads like there was a happy ending....

Would be interested to know how many members the "Get CUZ to MFC club" have? I wouldn't of thought the group would be in double digits, put it that way.
-
Roost It. I think Mo's "Exactly" may be in reference to the last sentence of dandeeman's post. I'm sure Mo will confirm it otherwise.
-
Which is what I added a moment ago in a edited version.

Having a stab at it here. Shaun Hart. Brisbane. edit: for the record Valenti is no where near as good.

I wouldn't have thought bulking up Davey's upper frame would take away his speed or agility. I'm pleased if he has improved his strength. He'll be able to hold his tackles... Hussain Bolt didn't lose any speed when bulking up! :D

I agree Axis. OMG! IMO a counter attacking gameplan with acquired elite pacy midfielders and defenders through turning over the list IS what is required to beat the likes of the Hawthorn's and the Geelong's in a Grand Final. If you intend to go down the path of the status quo and obtain rejects or 'used' players to plug gaps like the Picket's and Holland's of this world you may get to the finals occassionally but you'll never be a premiership side let alone see week 3 of the finals series. We need a huge dose or injection of quality players who will develop together. Morton, Grimes, Watts, Blease, Strauss, Martin, Garland are part of that developing group. edit: FFS Premierships are won with counter attacking gameplans.

My thinking is if Brisbane were looking at a similarly aged Nick Davis, they would be prepared to look at Yze. Voss has said recently they don't know who they will pick up in the PSD. They know. And Yze threw his hat into the ring saying he still has something to offer at a most opportune time...why? He might be thrown a lifeline by Brissy. But...I could be wrong.

I'm changing my selections...... Note that I selected Ben Cousins at pick 6 .. 1 Melbourne - Rockcliff or De Boer 2 Port Adelaide - Josh Carr (Fremantle) 3 Essendon - De Boer if Rockliff is selected by Melbourne. 4 Carlton - Chris Johnson (Melbourne) 5 Brisbane - Adem Yze (Melbourne) 6 Richmond - Ben Cousins (Southbank, Yarra River :D ) If De Boer is the best available player....we'll take him. Been tossing up on Rockliff and De Boer.
