  1. The match committee might have seen enough in one game.
  2. 'Sent back' or 'Dropped', which ever way you want to put it. I guess you might say then that Dunn has been sent back too. I'd say he's been replaced or dropped. edit: With Taylor & Campbell both playing, Jamar might get the nod. Cheney & Bartram or Petterd out?
  3. Valenti butchered the ball last week a few times, maybe a little harsh, but that's football. I reckon the starting line up might line up that way.

  5. Flashback: - Memories of 1987 A good read for those unfamiliar with the events of 1987. I remember vividly that Saturday afternoon, Round 22 Western Oval (now Whitten Oval). Yes, that vision of G.Lyon on the stretcher was from that day. The article has drawn some good parallel's. With the change of the jumper to a darker navy blue that year 1987, having played in the royal blue prior. Perhaps the change in jumper will happen for next year? Anyone know? (ie. Darker/Blood red).
  6. Century goalkickers these days are almost a dying breed the way the game is played, Franklin being the obvious exception. But that is a whole other need for another thread. ON MY HIGH HORSE: I want to see a flag in my lifetime, I want to enjoy one whilst I'm still young enough to get on the p#*s and not worry about any medication for a week after winning one. The supporters of the Hawks, Blues and Bombers of the past two decades just don't know how good they've had it....they 've almost taken it for granted. It's been a generation, nearly two since Melbourne's last flag. So if I'm being a little unselfish in wanting the best opportunity for a chance at a flag, just bump me or tell me to keep quiet, I can handle it.. Because I think obtaining a priority pick in this years draft might help. Because the draft in the next 5 years most likely won't. As BT told Brucey on the Sunday Footy Show, "not more than 4 Brucey." End of rant. HT.
  7. Here is the article from page 1 of this thread, from today's Age: - Johnson led Tiger revolt Wallace, in turn, believed he was facing the sack on Monday night and revealed as much to at least one associate, which explained the misreporting of his fate which took place two days ago. I agree Monty, unbelievable. The likes of Johnson, Simmonds and King would be on the fringe at Richmond under Wallace. They see no need for him to continue until the end of the season. But if he was removed from the scene, one would think it 'might' (from their point of view) enhance their game time and probably save their football careers under a new coach.
  8. Why should 4,5 or 6 players go instead of the coach? The coach is the one who IS finished. He should go. Reading Caro's article, there is a player divide. They're gone, it's no good for the players, James Hird is right. The season is finished, Terry should have the decency to walk (he won't), or the club should make the decision (all ready too late). The contractual obligations appear to be holding the club back from severing ties with Wallace immediately. The whole thing is a balls up.
  9. I can tell you, there are a few people down at Whitten Oval with a spring in their step at the moment! They'll probably want to recruit M.Morton because of it too.
  10. Agree JA, although we've only seen Bennell & Jetta, another important recruiting period approaching this year. I wonder if Craig Cameron is keeping an eye on things in his old work place....nah looks as though he has his hands full at the moment..
  11. Thought this might be handy Roost It, after all you asked and I didn't want you to miss out..and it's very relevant to this thread. This was posted on D'Ology a short time ago, by one of the administrators in 'Judee', thanks Judee: - An interesting, respectful night. We heard from Jimmy, Cameron, Chris and Dean and the operations manager was on hand to go through the plans as required. I am really pleased with the way this will work. The club has plans to grow and quickly realised that all staff would not be accommodated WELL at the new stadium so wisely will keep MCG option. Staff will be housed in both venues. The gym, according to Chris, will be 11 times bigger than the gym area at Junction Oval. It will be state of art in terms of facilities, medical access, recovery etc. The boys will just come across a footbridge and can start recovery immediately. As previously explained, the boys will benefit with training alongside soccer, rugby league and possibly rugby union players with the benefit of shared knowledge, bio-mechanists etc. let alone the motiviation side. There will be a pool. Our particular area will be a front corner. We will have use of three ovals including Gosch's paddock. So much was covered. Main thing is the High Performance, High Integrity test and goal for all activity. Targeted community work, not just the basic clinics; really working on training technique; highlighting the strong friendships being fostered and built among the players on and on. A lot of forward, considered thinking.
  12. More on Wallace and the Richmond players: - Johnson led Tiger revolt Wallace, in turn, believed he was facing the sack on Monday night and revealed as much to at least one associate, which explained the misreporting of his fate which took place two days ago.
  13. Dees confident recruits will deliver...

Wow. What is it with 'Filth' partners around here. Mine WAS a 'Carlton' supporter, she still has a soft spot for Carlton, but she's been Melbourne for nearly 12 years now. And yes, she's a paid up member. PS. She didn't like the whole Judd thing either, after she learnt he was a Melbourne supporter. If anything that has strengthened her bond with the Dees.
  17. I recall Neitz last year attempting to bump Dew in Round 1 last year.......Neitz came off second best. It was like Neitz hitting a brick wall covered in Jelly!!
  18. Incredible. They're copping it from all quarters these Magpies.
  19. You might want to fasten your seat belt for this if it happens, and enjoy the ride.
  20. Scott West is one of the coaches of the midfield. In the clearance work department too. <_<
  21. At that instance, when he played on, there was approx. 1 minute 30 seconds left on the clock, with the tigers in front. What he should have done is follow team rules. He should have milked the clock for another 10 seconds or so and kicked to the top of the goal square for a contest - if there was nothing on in the Forward 50m. Instead he gave Port first use of the ball by an act of stupidity in playing on and kicking out of bounds. Incredible. What was said after the match? Well it's been reported Wallet singled out Morton, during his spray. Words to the effect, "You've just cost me my career" ie Coaching Job. He was quite within his rights to give Morton a bake, however those words are a bit rich considering they're 1 and 7.
  22. Thats all fine Banter and good post by the way. I would love to see the team compete time and time again. This current list would just benefit greatly with another addition of quality players/picks before making greater inroads next season. Sustained quality and good footy - finals footy and greater chance of our much sort after premiership
  23. Does she support the demons? You could recruit her?
  24. Wasn't it Garland?
