  1. Fwiw, I was surprised they moved Newton, that was laughable. They should have kept him in the goalsquare. We might want to keep the status quo against Freo, bit of insurance. (ie. We did beat Port). Chris Judd was also a promising JUNIOR at U18 level. Bobby, it's not all about Tom Scully. It's about 2 early picks. Tom Scully is just rated No.1, that's all.
  2. Strange day. The tigers were pathetic, so pathetic I thought they were tanking. These remaining 4 rounds will be 'harder' in obtaining the priority pick than I think we all were led to believe. Certainly I did anyway. All 4 games that remain our side is capable of winning. Why? 1)Because these players are hell bent on playing for their future careers. 2)All of the positional moves and lack of rotations will ensure different matchups that could achieve a win - as it nearly did against Richmond. 3)North and Freo are clearly beatable. 4)Whilst they will go in as favourites - for it's a certainty - Carlton only just got over North and St Kilda could get more injuries - and the fact that many have stated they need a loss at some stage prior to the finals... Firstly, I didn't think he'd get the distance, but he nailed it on contact. Secondly, Richmond were deplorable. They didn't deserve to win that game. Which is most likely why Rawlings said the win felt hollow. Can relate to that. The one thing McMahon will be remembered for in history. Freo is to come. That's why.. The only way of building a team for a shot at a Flag is by obtaining some of the best young talent in the system legally first, as well as winning. And perhap's the club. They did two-three weeks ago. The wheels appear to have fallen off.
  3. Malthouse did say that. He would regard Jones as the best available for clearances against Richmond. Moloney, Green, McLean were out.
  4. Nice one. How do you find those clip things, did you just do a search on you tube for that or have you seen it before?
  5. Bit late. Better late than never: 6 Mcdonald 5 Petterd 4 Grimes 3 Bate 2 Davey 1 Dunn
  6. Maybe. Reality check. It was against Richmond.

Correct. And we know what Port can serve up.

  9. You raise a good point. The way things have transpired, I'd hope that the communication between players and coaches is excellent. That the players know they will be switched around to different positions, that the coaches will be experimenting this way, that way, yet the players are instructed to do their best no matter what. I'm sure this is the case anyway. So they all know where they stand. In fact, it might just help the players adapt to different situations in different positions and something might come of it. Some better all round players might be developed in the process. Even extra trade value perhaps? One thing Jade Rawlings would know. It would be darn hard to coach against. He would have been happy, but totally bamboozled with what unfolded.
  10. Very good article Oracle. Akum, good summary of what happened this morning too with KB and PS.
  11. You're being paranoid and this could not happen.
  12. I would have said Yakult.
  13. He's only played three. Didn't have to improve much to be his best game.
  14. I wondered about this. To me it looked a different West Coast against Essendon than we've been accustomed to this season. It's as if they were all let off the chain, if you know what I mean. Maybe they thought it was all too hard obtaining the PP. Afterall they still had Nth and Rich at Subi to come. Maybe they received a call from Vlad last week. Or maybe they all just simply pulled their finger out. Whatever the case it was certainly a more determined Eagle outfit with good efficiency and intent this time around. 100% better than their performance against Fremantle.
  15. So it is. Totally agree re Nth & Carlton. The last round is also not out of the question - St.Kilda. But I'm tipping no one will agree with me there. Alot can happen in 4 weeks, just have a look at some of the injury concerns for the Saints out of the Sydney game. They've had a great run, but it could all go pear shaped by the finals if they continue their pursuit of an undefeated season. We did stick with them until half-time at the Gold Coast....... . the odds are it will be St.Kilda's game, touch wood it is. Like the confidence. I thought the same thing prior to the start of the Richmond game too.

Thats what I said earlier in this thread. Like Phil Hughes of the Australian test team he should be told!
  17. I feel for the players, they were a better team than Richmond. Hands down. Who would of thought Jordan McMahon! Good to see Warnock help out Davey in the fight against King. Sylvia back next week. Nice username change 45.
  18. I left out Grimes in my top 6. I have edited my post - cant believe I missed him.
  19. Is this event still full steam ahead for sunday 16th before the Freo game?
  20. Easy to say in hindsight. For the record it was Carlton who beat the Kangaroos on Friday night, so if as you say North were good, Carlton must have been better.
  21. No wonder he hasn't rised to the occassion.
  22. I'm truly amazed. Astonishing really.
  23. Approaching? I would have thought "surpassed"...
  24. I'll acknowledge that hotgod. (Hey, I thought Grimes was your new hotgod!?) However, Colin Sylvia's best consistently - where does that put him, IYHO?
  25. Definitely. Whatever their top 6 is - and I know you devoted a thread to it (which was good information) - I think Hurley (once developed a little further) will replace Fletcher and will be a part of that top 6. They may find it hard to replace a 900+ goalkicker in Lloyd. As much as I hate the Bombers, their club commands respect. You're right that they may or may not develop top end elite players, however it's not beyond them at Essendon.
