  1. Interesting. Was Patrick Smith?
  2. That's good to see Bail getting a taste of AFL level. He will learn a great deal if he gets a start. What will that be, 39 players used this season?
  3. Interesting quote from Bailey from this article by Matt Burgan, speaking about onfield success: - "I would like to think we'll get there a little bit quicker than what people might think," Bailey said. An exciting year next year nevertheless.
  4. When you really think about it - this is with respect to the opening post and thread title, the players are playing to win plain and simple despite positional moves. So on field there is no tanking. Tanking is lying down to get railroaded by the opposition. Our players are fighting for wins. Its not beyond the players to win another 2 games. So in effect we can be clear that our players are giving their all in their development and rest assured nothing will take off the gloss of any future success.
  5. He must have a soft spot for Garry & Melbournefc. Fwiw, he has expressed his view many-a-time that Melbfc undoubtedly as a team and as a club, need the Priority pick and would be very silly to give up this opportunity which presents itself. Some of the most thoughtful words I've heard from him as a reporter.
  6. Maybe I'm more protective of my club than others. The facts are the club has been experimenting for quite a while, only Sunday was not to the same extent, (ie.there was more), which I have stated. Other games give evidence to this sort of shuffling, like I stated, Rounds 7 and 17 which conveniently was ignored. IMO there is no hiding, as there is evidence of this occurring before. You may beg to differ, but that is your opinion. What we saw, doesn't happen 'every' game either, if your looking for 'more' evidence.
  7. Sensational! Thanks Brett. Brian Taylor, Mark Robinson, Mark Stevens take note!!! I'm sure there is others. The Debtometer - looking to raise $2Million, wouldn't it be great if Melbournefc and its supporters were able to wipe off alll the debt and start fresh for 2010 with an exciting side. We would be on the up big time. Go DEES!! Click here to see Debt Demolition Debt-o-meter
  8. Incorrect. I'm not kidding myself at all. I have quite rightly pointed out that similar moves (whilst not as many as Sunday) have been employed by Bailey this year and as you quite rightly point out, the last two years. We saw similar trends in Round 7 and 17.
  9. She usually does have a good point of view. Do you think there might have been a hint of Richmond coming out of her on FC?
  10. No, wait until after Round 22.
  11. Absolutely Old55. All in the name of the pursuit for success, a flag. Is that why the club exists? oops.
  12. Matthew Whelan. More? What about the game against Sydney? Similar moves were made. Short memories.
  13. ...grammar!
  14. Crikey, at first glance, I thought you posted Melbourne's entire playing list. That is some list...of 20 players. Whelan 2 weeks....
  15. Indeed a good point you make titan. Bailey is a fan of "position adaptability", some would say only of recent times too. Trengove and Morabito also fall into this category from others reports and from what I've seen. Not necessarily having played at Full Back as Rohan has at Cobden, but other various positions. One thing is for sure, Rohan has great pace and has a good leap for up forward, strong mark overhead.
  16. Only if they get selected to play... <_<
  17. Correct. I'm referring to the website in particular. It was well advertised last year. Just something that I think needs some exposure.
  18. In the words of Colonel Klink.... "We know nothingggg..!!!!!!"
  19. Yes, your opening sentence doesn't make sense. Furthermore to your post Titan. There wouldn't be a tag on Brent Harvey this week, would there?
  20. Thankyou. very clever of you. You think there would be a link at 5th of August to start with. Still, I'm sure everything will go swimmingly. Donated.
  21. Do you see anyone laughing at your joke. How can it be a joke, when you say, "Just a thought?" If that is a joke then Warwick Capper is a likeable bloke.
  22. Well, all that experimentation nearly pulled off a win. Go figure. And if you opened your eyes there has been alot more experimentation go on during the year.....shall I start......no, you can review the season and find out for yourself. Here's a tip, start your review with Cale Morton.
  23. I've visited the Mfc Website. Isn't August the month of Debt Demolition? There is nothing on the Home Page about this. Is there a link to where to make a donation? Haven't found one yet. I'd like the ball to start rolling. the Aim was a reported $1 million to be raised to wipe off more debt for the club. If anyone knows please post a link as soon as you come accross it, can we also pin it up. Afterall, it's important in order to get ahead of the pack. Cheers HT.
  24. I agree with this now. Wait until 1st of September. Then all the threads can be merged etc for the Draft and Trading Forum in a nice neat little package. Reminder: Debt Demolition month has begun. Aim is $1 Million. Go Dees!
  25. Won't be long now Rojik. It's the AFL that needs to be blamed in this instance. They're the ones who dangled the carrot. They're the ones all for an even competition. Whatever the case - we need it anyway. The list resembled swiss cheese when ND left. Smelly at that too. I agree with your thoughts on Moloney, Grimes etc. I'm sure they are mature enough to play the game they love, and let the rest take care of itself. Forever how long things have seemed negative on these forums with respect to this issue. It will be the flipside between Sep - March '10. There will be lot's of positive posts if things work out the way we all want.
