  1. Game plan? Loose man? Advanced tactics? Why allow the easy outs (if they could even be executed) when the basics required would, should, level the contest? We'll get beyond that magical number of outs (30, that was previously reverse prophesied) by the end of this season. Once the list proves to the coaches that they are capable of consistent games of contested football then, and only then, will the coaches allow the outs as needed and not after repeated failures at the basics.
  2. Trevor Johnson 1955-62. 118 games, 9 goals. 185cm 83kgs. Defender and ruckman from Epping ?
  3. Previously, most Jack Watts 'tackles' amounted to a one armed chest tickle. His form over the past couple of months has been most encouraging.
  4. Aww yeah .. a bit of a closer replay shown about a minute later.
  5. Hah! The printed version reads: Bernie Vince (Melbourne)….8 Nathan Jones (Melbourne)……7 Dane Swan (Melbourne)……7 Jack Watts (Melbourne)……7 Jack Viney (Melbourne)……6
  6. That time of day edit: seems dee-luded posted this clip 3 years ago in this thread but the international copyright infringement police deleted it. Enjoy again.

  8. I really don't rate the boundary rider position at all. However given the seemingly mandated 'entertainment' factor in current commentary, he'd unwittingly save my team from being too dry.
  9. I think my ideal TV commentary team would be Hudson and Lane, with Bomba and Carey doing special comments. Richardson on the boundary under the $2 plastic poncho.
  10. It used to be that you could at least rely on the ammos to provide a clean contest. These days many are co-opted / corrupted as 'feeder' competitions.
  11. His quick thinking also great. Fantastic pass to Garlett under pressure. 'He hit it in hope' ... no.
  12. Not content but certainly appreciative. The most basic thing surely is being in the game in the final quarter as opposed to out of it in the first.
  13. Roos view. "“I’m supportive of the father/son [concept] and I think it should stay, but I don’t think [it should be] such a complicated system now. Maybe they’re better just to scrap it – you’re either all in or all out,” he said." "Roos said he could understand why the AFL was attempting to make the competition as even as possible, but questioned why the father/son rule needed to be altered yet again."
  14. Not on the list but the win on Sunday was our second in the last eleven matches versus the Bulldogs going back to March 2008.
  15. Couldn't get to the game, just finished watching the replay .... so good. Bail, from what I could see, played ok. He needs to get more momentum up when kicking for goal. Toumpas was pumped after that positive goal review - great to see. Nice pressure and work-rate from the backs. Forward contests had the dogs worried. vandenBerg. Double win with the girls getting up pre-match. So. Good.
