Very true re the bashing, I feel the exact same But I can’t help but think that we have the greatest number of non-member supporters, but one of the lowest memberships. We are some of the most passionate supporters, but have a rubbish turn up rate to the games. This is what I mean by fickle supporters (non-members AND members).

He would have earned more respect from me if he just came out and said he did it... instead of guilt tripping and hiding behind his achievements, cancer and charity work. Just because everyone else did it doesnt make it right. Im surprised he could go along with it for so long - the guilt would have killed me

Thanks for this. Im leaning to Wines, good height, good weight, moves well from what ive seen on the computer and, from what you have said re skills, room for improvement. Also given Viney and Wines relationship this would be good both on and off the field GET AROUND IT

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CAMERON PEDERSEN
PJ_12345 replied to Hannibal's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he is as good as gone -
Just not good enough regardless of pick number Harsh reminder: The average AFL player's career is around 3 years - and most get drafted around 18 - so game over at 21. No such thing as a free lunch. If your not good enough cya later, its a competitive profession not a charity. Really sad looking at this...

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRIS DAWES

Because Moloney is a restricted free angent we wont get anything good and collingwood are difficult to satisfy - bane of my life I think he is worth pick 20. -
I respect his value of family over football. I understand that he needs to earn some money somehow but felt a bit let down that he left and didnt let us get anything for him. I havent felt this dissapointed since, dare I say it, T$ bailed and when Jeff Farmer went back to Freo. Best of luck to him.

Stef Martin needed as key back for opposition gorillas
PJ_12345 replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
I still dont see how Martin is going to stop a gorilla. I mean a silverback gorilla weighs around 185 to 230kg, has the power of around 5 grown men. Martin only weights 103kg, and whilst he has the height advantage is seriously out muscled... -
Mate please please stop

Interesting thought. I asked him, and a few others, how recovery was going at the B&F and he seemed fine. I think they were taking things slowly because he was in no hurry for it to be rushed. I think MN went so hard after them for two bigger reasons: 1) We cant be caught with our pants down again this year when our only key forward goes down 2) Come out hard and loud - even though it didnt start off this way but it turned out a few clubs wanted Dawes. The louder you are the more you deter other clubs from bothering! -
Thanks mate and you hit the nail on the head there and it couldnt be said any better - they only designed to hurt. Re "based on opinions" i meant to refer to a statement about how the MFC didnt give Jurrah all their support.

Since 2008: New board New staff New coach No debt and profitable balance sheet New leadership team New young captains New experienced players New strategy First full preseason with all these changes It feels like being in a new car - everything is so shiny and smells so good!!

Hahaha its the ultimate insult isnt it - he has such an ugly mug! Better go jump in the shower!!

Yeah sorry I get a bit agitated when people make wildlish conspiracy claims with no factual basis - just opinions - and start calling people Alan Jones. I didnt mean to justify the racist comment - by saying that there are always people like that. I meant to say that there will always be skid stains on the undies of society, it doesnt make it right, but you shouldnt try and draw long strung connections. Personally if I hear something Ill say something. I know that sounds key board warrior-ish but I hate racism and I'm pretty belligerent so ill say something if it pisses me off. Re what we have to do to fix it I have no idea! Lol its a tough issue. Every generation has their fight or struggle - I think its time that the next one is about reducing racism and increasing the welfare of aboriginals and equal marriage. All for which i for. Wbu?

Alright, I understand what your saying but now that your opinions have replaced facts has annoyed me. The dees stood by him legally, financially, emotionally and any other lly you would like. It was in their best interest to do everything they could - he was still a contracted player, he is a demon and for christ sake the MFC isn't an immoral grinch. I tell you what, how about you tell me how they didnt do everything. Re the racism comment, there are narrow-minded, racist biggots at every game of football, like in any community, and country.

He is the only person in the top 20 draft picks who hasn't played a single game. You can go even further down the list and he is one of two in the top 30, and the other guy had a hammy issue for 14 weeks and was with Sydney who were notorious for making list changes from 2008 onwards. Final nail: Howe, pick #33, has played 35 games. Don't think this is the recruitment's fault though - at the end of the day he didn't put the work in.
