  1. What error did he he make? I couldnt watch/listen after the first round
  2. Welcome to Demon Land and say good bye to your sanity!
  3. Could I assume that if we didnt get viney under the father son rule he would have been the #1 draft pick?
  4. Yeah true. When Fox Sports aired some of his clips I thought he looked pretty big but he seems pretty light on the scales
  5. Enjoy!
  6. So true. There is something about Magner which I really like, most likely the under dog thing. He has the body, and the drive - I hope he works on his skills, and as you mentioned, versatility more.
  7. I agree re the pressures of being a #1 draft pick. But I cant help but feel that Watts hasnt had the best start, changing coaches, original position on the wing but now in the back, and body building issues like all new drafts. I dont think we have seen the best of him and I hope this season we will be pleasantly surprised by his improvement and leadership.... I really hope
  8. Hahaha trust me this decision was not suggested by the AFL. It's just a last minute/ditch effort from them to try and suck up to the AFL to lessen whatever penality is to come. If you look at the history of salary cap breaches, they penalty gets more severe everytime, and considering that this is the first big case after the new stance on 3rd party deals - whatever Adelaide will be hit with it wont be pretty and Adelaide know it. I think what we are being accused of and salary cap breaches are incredibly different. For one salary cap rules are black and white, tanking is incredibly grey, and there is precedence of salary cap breaching, ours is unprecedented. Also Adelaide alerted the AFL to their breach, and have basically self confessed with the drop of their average picks to lessen the penalty. WE have confessed nothing, and will fight this to the courts if it comes to that. Two completly different issues, with two completely different stances and will have two completely different outcomes.
  9. What about porn and fireworks? I swear thats all I hear associated with Canberra - then something about pollies, whatever weird bird that is
  10. Am I the only one who thinks this is too little, too late? I reckon the only thing this has done is provide a round of hi fives and laughs around the AFL offices because they know Adeliaide are self-confessed screwed and guilty
  11. I think Daisycutter might be a bit upset that me missed out on a golden Monty Python video post
  12. I dunno about you guys but I put my WINES in a SELLER because I hate it when it gets GRIMES on it.
  13. Probably not - but at least we know after all the $, drama and embarrassment if no conclusive information is found or we win through the courts, that they wouldn't want to touch this issue again with a 10 foot pole... at least with us. That being said we should still be like a midget at a urinal: on our toes (Ps, sorry if anyone is offended by that statement)
  14. Thats what happens when you put - stops tape *cough* wankers, starts tape again - two cowboys to head the investigation.
  15. I absolutely agree with you d4l. I'm really happy to see some proactive change. It's bee a bit hard to appreciate it now, with all this old history being raised, i.e tanking, so thanks for the positive post for keeping things in perspective.
  16. Well played sir... well played
  17. Remember there isn't an i in team - but there is a me. Just ask Garry Ablett in GCS
  18. In 2009 we had one of the older sides in the game, here are a few notables that were on our list in 2009: (ps, I have gone on the player's years here so I included any who were 26 years old as they might be in fact 27). 7. Bruce, Cameron (was 31) 10. Davey, Aaron (was 26) 14. Green, Brad (was 29) 16. Jamar, Mark (was 27) 23. McDonald, James (was 33) 27. Miller, Brad (was 26) 32. Rivers, Jared (was 26) 33. Robertson, Russell (was 31) 38. Wheatley, Paul (was 28) 39. Whelan, Matthew (was 30) I know between 2007 and 2010 we had most amount of listed players over 30 years old in the AFL - the exact year I cant remember Just thought you would be interested Ps, one side which I feel has constantly battled age is Carlton. Since 2001 when they finished 6th I feel they have always been rebuilding and rebuilding to no avail: 2002 - 16th 2003 - 15th 2004 - 11th 2005 - 16th 2006 - 16th 2007 - 15th 2008 - 11th 2009 - 7th 2010 - 8th 2011 - 4th 2012 - 10th This history spans 3 different coaches: Brittian, Pagan, and Ratten
  19. Eh I re-read your post. I thought you meant from 0-5m but you meant 5m> Yeah I agree with everything you said. In terms of acceleration v. endurance I hate footy. It's so contradicting. You've got to be able to accelerate like a sprinter, but have the endurance like a marathon runner. Unfortunately I cant help but feel like Davey is a good example of these two areas: great at sprinting, not alot of endurance anymore. Have a look at him off the play and you'll see what I mean - but hopefully this preseason will help to fix it.
  20. I thought I remember hearing from the club that Watts was the 2nd quickest in the 20m sprint last year...
  21. Cheers wyl, yeah there have been some seriously obscure posts on DL recently. When we get in the media it really brings the trolls out of the wood works... well at least I hope thats the case!
  22. Yeah because the Catholic Church issue is being completely driven by The Age. It has nothing to do with decades of abused children coming out, and its so media driven the government has decided to perform a vague, easy, short-time and low cost Crown Investigation. Get real
