don't try and understand, chris in stuieland the officials at afl, mfc and efc are all full time professionals and therefore are more knowledgeable than us they never make mistakes and never try to hide the truth from us they are above questioning and may never be challenged qed -

exactly and on the reward side of professionals knowing more about melksham's ability than us, i just like to remember dawes and lumumba. there are others too, but you get my point. it boils down to the intangibles. can melksham turn back the clock a couple of years and build on the potential he had or is he damaged goods now it's a punt that only time will tell. it's a punt that we are all entitled to have a reasonable opinion on based on past knowledge p.s. i'd like to think/hope melksham can turn out to be good player (when he plays) but i'd still have to rate him low or low/medium return at the moment -

or they saw it as high reward, thus justifying high risk? the point is we don't know. we also can't just assume they went through a "rigorous risk assessment" or a "proper process". for all we know it could have been gut feeling and emotion of reward that swayed the decision.....it does happen often in this business -

chris, disagree that the consequences if low reduce the risk. they just mean the reward is low, the risk is unchanged so with melksham we have high risk, low reward (imo the risk is 50% or higher) a high risk, low reward is generally something to be avoided. in addition the cost side (mid 20s pick, and 4x$400k)) was imo on the expensive side at the end of the day if we lose him for a year it's not the end of the world, but the issue i have is the decision to trade him in the first place was dubious given our current on-field position. goodwin i agree, seems to be quite low risk -

i hope stuie will resist from talking about the future from now on i.e. things that haven't happened yet, things that aren't fact like how many wins this year, when will we win a flag, who will be best 22, who will be leading goalkicker etc etc it will be great. no arguments, just talk of things that are, things like facts, no futures because that's not fact yet bring it on...............saty might even come back -
shucks..................ok,...... if you insist......

don't the vendors have a forum where users like yourself can discuss such matters (without having to raise or pay for a vendor support ticket)?

it occurs to me that wada are in a far better position to judge the guilt of the 34 players than either the afl, mahoney, roos, taylor, jackson or whoever at the mfc that stuie is unquestioningly prepared to put his faith in as decision makers/risk takers. wada think they are guilty and are prepared to go to great expense to prove it. that should be enough for great concern. but stuie knows which horse to back because of his "faith" in a few people who are not even involved. yeah, that makes sense if cas find them guilty which i think is on the cards (but i'm not `100% confident) then at least melksham is in trouble and i would expect in for a holiday. whether goodwin is in trouble, i'm not so sure. i think he is very much at the periphery from what i understand and might escape any punishment if cas find for guilt them i'm sure at least some support staff (in addition to dank) must eventually be punished whether via asada/wada charges or the usual grab bag of afl manufactured charges it wouldn't make sense in this case if the only football department support staff to suffer consequences was just dank, when it is generally accepted that this was a process instigated and executed by the football department (some at least) rather than being instigated by the players. but we shall see. -
i had a down-sized banana for breakfast, red thought it only right at my age to contribute something back to the economy

Should Demonland embrace the Women's Game?
daisycutter replied to Bigred's topic in Melbourne Demons
initially the costs can be kept low e.g. small number of teams small team list sizes short (very) season games played as curtain raisers (no or little cost) gov (state and fed) chip in some money afl chip in some money tv rights maybe some sponsors will be interested just some random thoughts -

although caro does make explicit reference to comments made to her by player managers (who obviously got it from players who attended or their legal reps) -

as i understand it both parties have already made submissions on penalty should the verdict be guilty it was reported in the media that a recommendation by cas of any penalties (if guilty) will be made concurrent with their verdict announcement -
how often does "the truth will out" occur unequivocally, hardtack truth is the most illusive of concepts just saying

how do you know all this stuff moonie? are you some kind of spy or on the mgmt payroll?

just as an aside everytime i start up i get automatically logged in. only very rarely do i have to manually login and there is generally a good reason for this so, you shouldn't need to manually login unless you have cleared cache, reinstalled browser or such like things if you don't set up a login then you suffer somewhat and just get a deprecated experience. same with other forums

well, previously, i never used the homepage (with the combined recent post list) as it didn't suit me so i can't comment on how it worked in detail i always worked from the specific sub-forum page (either Melbourne Demons, Other Sports or General Discussion etc) from these sub forum lists, clicking the solid dot = last unread post and clicking thread text was = first thread post are you saying it didn't work for you that way?

well that was how it worked before the upgrade and i don't remember anyone complaining or having problems then plus, it's worth repeating, best to stick to "industry standard" of course this is just my opinion and it's your forum. i can live with whatever you decide.....cheers

i use about a dozen other forums (mostly infrequently i might add) on all of them clicking on the text of the thread title takes you to start of thread and they provide separate "buttons" for next unread post and last post (of course for unlogged users there is no automatic tracking of their previous navigation) i'm not quite sure what you are saying you would make permanent, but it would be best to stick to "industry standard"

click on solid dot or star to the left of thread title. same as before. if you hover over solid dot text should pop up explaining it (i think yesterday this was temporarily changed)
