  1. rita takes a whack at swan's rainbow hypocrisy http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/rita-panahi/rita-panahi-on-sydney-swans-signing-sponsorship-deal-with-qatar-airways/news-story/11dc6fdfa7df36ff58613423fcc4d0c1
  2. there is a large number of the general public who disagree but are largely (not totally) powerless to do much about it. a lot of the "feeding" is also more about reducing costs than really giving people what they really want. but we could go on and on about whether it is the chicken or the egg. ......except we can do something about it, by not buying newspapers, and watching fta or cable tv...........which is exactly what's happening. though the alternative (digital) is not necessarily better, but at least you get more options to choose your content
  3. and to avoid a large injury payment on delisting if he sustained a serious injury
  4. lol, ldvc. you need to drop that last condition else we would all be in a perpetual state of anger which i am sure would not be conducive to a healthy life
  5. of course that's obvious, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be critical and just accept it. that's a sure prescription for more of the same (and more "danks celebrities")
  6. quite agree and know all that but i don't agree on your last argument, there is no reason that the media has to reflect (and glorify) the standards of the lower strata of society. and even if they do sometimes where are the articles emphasising the other side of the coin and providing some balance. you can't avoid criticism of the media perspective merely on the basis that they just represent the lowest common multiple of the consumer...........or can you?.......maybe you can.......sad
  7. why do the press continue to give dank oxygen when he provides nothing new in the way of facts and is completely discredited? a few more critical articles exposing dank's appalling record and trail of destruction seem a bridge too far for our valiant press
  8. um.... the aflpa were the ones who asked the afl to allow the top-up players to go dfa
  9. he may not be able to pick his club, but whatever club gc17 picks he doesn't have to accept either if he goes to draft he can set his own price and not talk to any other club. stacked in his favour. fa not required
  10. timing of delisting (i.e. before trade period or after), whether more than one club is interested, whether the club is uncertain of delisting based on how trade period goes and numbers stack up btw i did say "might" get a trade pick
  11. the future for discerning people with good taste is headed for oblivion http://www.sbs.com.au/food/article/2016/04/07/were-facing-future-without-our-favourite-banana reckon my time left will be be unaffected, stuff everybody else
  12. anyway, getting back on topic, if any other club wants him they can have him. might even get a usable draft pick if they don't then i can see him getting delisted
  13. maybe his contract decision making is as flawed as his set-piece goal kicking decision making

In his first public statement since he, along with Drew Petrie, Nick Dal Santo and Michael Firrito, were told by the Kangaroos he wouldn’t be recontracted for next season, Harvey said he was disappointed not to be playing into a 22nd season at North. But the 38-year-old assured Roos fans that he had great empathy for Scott and others at the club that had to make the tough calls. “Right now, I feel a bit flat and sad because I won’t be playing at North Melbourne next year. But that was always going to be the case no matter when my career at Arden Street ended,” Harvey said via his social media accounts. “I know there are a lot of angry and disappointed fans out there and I love you all for your passion and care for me in this situation. “But I need you all to know that I’m ok with what’s happened. “It’s okay to feel upset, Brad and those in charge had a tough decision to make. I’m not angry at them about it at all, and have been in footy long enough to understand how it all works and that no individual is ever, bigger than the club. “More than anything, I appreciate Brad’s honesty because I put him in a difficult situation when I asked to know where I stood. He did the right thing and told us all the truth. “ Harvey said he and the three other players were given the opportunity to address the media on Wednesday but all opted not to. “I would have broken down and didn’t want to do that. I want to be clear that is wasn’t because we were angry, like some people are suggesting,” Harvey said. “When the time is right, I will speak but I’m not sure when that will be. “While this is hard for all of us, it’s important that we don’t lose sight of what’s in front of us. Finals are just around the corner and rest assured, we will do everything we can to win. We’d all like nothing more than to go out on a high.” Harvey said he hadn’t had a chance to consider his playing future beyond this season.
