Something will break by then in a big way, and, long time before any dramatic global warming apocalypse I'd be stockpiling fossil fuels for any future global wars

The AFL wouldn't want it, but rather than just publishing membership numbers I'd like them to publish membership revenues as well. With so many dodgy membership types I wouldn't be surprised if some club's numbers don't align the same with their $$$s The numbers are just window dressing now. The revenue is the bread and butter. (yeah I know sponsors might be impressed with numbers but they're not really that dumb)

IMNTHO this is a bit of an extreme position Development is not just about getting as many games into the youngsters as possible Its also about teaching them tactics, skills and winning games (oh and measurable personal improvement too) I agree this year is somewhat of a development year but not completely at the expense of other measurement criteria than games played Four years into the rebuild and the coach, team and individuals must show some improvement (or suffer some consequences) I get frustrated like others and I have to keep reminding myself its only 3 rounds in so there is plenty of time to get back on track, but please get a move on.
