Agreed. Pretty sure I read an MFC season preview in either the Age or Herald Sun where Jade Rawlings explained it will take some time for the players to adjust to the complex systems they are looking to implement. If those systems consist purely of "kicking it long into their forward line at all costs" then I'd be slightly worried about the mental capacity of our playing group. Very naive comment from Fletcher.

True. Really shouldn't be so difficult to get the colours right, every other side with red in their jumper seem to get the job done.

Anyone seen the behind the scenes video of the 2012 team photo on the melbournefc site? I know our jumper looks better without sponsors pasted over the front, but in this day and age it's a bit embarassing... will look very poor if we run out like that in the NAB cup.

Mate of mine was in the audience for The Footy Show last night. Said Garry and Sam stayed around for about 30 mins after the show to answer questions. Garry was asked when he'd know about Tom and if he thought he would sign, and he said "look I expect we'll know next week". So I'd be surprised if we heard anything today.

I understand (and agree) with what you're saying re Sylvia/Trengove - however what I meant was I don't think it's fair to put it on him this early in his career. Future captain written all over him, but not as early as next year imo. And I get the feeling Sylvia would step up to the plate if given the role (I know, he won't get it and doesn't deserve it based on past behaviour). Happy to be proven wrong, but I just can't see them taking it off Green.

Sylvia would be fantastic, Trengove too young. If Green re-signs and plays on next year (which I'd bet on happening), then he will remain captain.
