We could, however i think that Dunn and moreso Bate have some currency, whereas Newton and Meesen had none. Those players went through the draft nomination process and there was no interest. Dunn and Bate could get drafted. Obviously it's in thier interest to be on a senior list somewhere. With Nicholson and Evans, if they are not senior listed they will need to take a hit for the club to remain as rookies, if they nominated for the draft they would certainly get drafted on to a senior list. It will be a tricky period for the list manager. We have a good recent record in juggling things to get good outcomes for player and club. The struggle will now be to hold on to young talent. There are the obvious ones but there are also blokeds like Gawn, Martin, Bail etc who we have put development into that could be knocked off.

.....to have an excellent career at Melbourne Do not feed people.

Don't know about Joel Mac but Green is Vets list...editted. Will investigate J M, probably coming to the end of a 2 year deal.

GCS seemed to be well organised and lead with a clear plan. Not sure if I get the same feeling from GWS. NB: I am not even game to discuss the $ amounts offered, the timing of the offer and the implications that may have for the MFC.
-
We have a very good senior ruckman in Jamar, have developed a great athletic second ruckman in Martin and we have a young beanpole in Gawn who will be at maturity when the senior bloke is finished. The ruck stocks are exactly what they should be. We do not have a surplus. Crazy to consider trading any of these three.

Bate and Dunn contracted to 2012 so some sort of deal would need to be struck. I second your ideas on Newtown, he is a rookie for the purposes of the list.
-
Got this from another forum source but cannot vouch for its accuracy but looks about right. Uncontracted at end 2011 Jake Fitzpatrick Max Gawn Addam Maric Stefan Martin Cale Morton Tom Scully Colin Sylvia Austin Wonaeamirri Players contracted to end 2012 Rohan Bail Clint Bartram Matthew Bate Jamie Bennell Sam Blease Lucas Cook Troy Davis Lynden Dunn Colin Garland Jeremy Howe Mark Jamar Neville Jetta Nathan Jones Liam Jurrah Tom McDonald Jordie McKenzie Brent Moloney Ricky Petterd Jared Rivers Jake Spencer James Strauss Luke Tapscott Jack Trengove Matthew Warnock Players contracted until 2013 are: Aaron Davey Jack Grimes Jordan Gysberts Jack Watts Frawley is contracted until 2014 Still have Nicholson and potentially Evans to be promoted from the rookie list. Rookie Listed Players Campbell, Robert (Rookie) Evans, Michael (Rookie) Johnston, Cameron (Rookie) Lawrence, Kelvin (Rookie) McNamara, Tom (Rookie) Michael Newton (Rookie) Nicholson, Daniel (Rookie)-Promote to senior List Vets List ie doesn't take up position on main list Brad Green Unknown Joel Macdonald, possibly coming to the end of a 2 year deal?

Phone rings, "Hi Alistair it's Rob Poachley from GWS here, we want to discuss young Tom Scully" Does Lynch a) Quickly hang up phone B) State that the instructions from his client is to consider his contractual future at the end of the season. c) Stick his fingers in his ears and twirl around yelling "we're not listening"

You are talking about the last few weeks. He has had opportunities up the ground. I suggest that he may be playing a defensive post because he doesn't involve himself enough. He is a big talent. I think everyone who has a bit of a handle on him would assess him the same, even the man himself
-
Bennell is one of the most gifted footballers on our list, super quick and agile, sure hands at ground level and has good disposal at pace. Has been asked to play a variety of roles including shut down defensive roles on crumbers. He isn't a natural ball winner, needs to get it into his hands more often and may struggle with a limited tank. It's time he started to get himself involved more. What he does is generally great.

BUMP Gysberts, Tapscott, Bail, Bennell, Gawn, Strauss, Nicholson, Evans, Howe, Jurrah. Still early days, but some great signs and the bolded ones are terrific value picks I think Barry Prendergast can be well satisfied with his efforts. Some inspired later picks. With Blease, Cook, Davis, Mcdonald all showing good signs. The OP has it wrong. Barry Prendergast has done a hell of a lot right and is proving to be a late pick/rookie specialist. With so much development still to come spots in the 22 will be hard to come by and excellence will be demanded.
-
Maybe, but would like to see Blease debut at the G, and Bailey has flagged his intention to bring Tapscott back through Casey. Macdonald for another defender. Bartram is the logical choice against the Bulldogs small forward line.
-
Yep. I think he is the logical defensive replacement against the doggies. NB Bailey has indicated that Tapscott come back through Casey. Blease is the other option but Etihad is not ideal for him and I reckon we need another small defender against the Dogs.

That is why rumours of any kind should be ignored. Context, motives, tone, credibility cannot be assessed.

Ricky has always been a naturally tough and courageous competitor. His mindset changed when he was called on to play a leading forward role. Hopefully he can find that happy place where he is both a dangerous and effective, attacking forward and a dogged defensive one.
-
I may have heard the sound of a penny dropping after the Queens Birthday game. If we can sustain the forward pressure then we will win and win well.

We have our own game plan and I love it when it works!
jabberwocky replied to Watt and Howe?'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Great post. Strength, skills and structure to break through the press. And the game plan appears to have undergone tweaking, rather key deficiencies have been emphasised and have been/are being addressed. -
Fortunately for you there are guidelines which limit the words that can be used that can reply to this. I do not like your post and many of your other posts. Your posts are poor.
-
Don't discount the possibility that the current situation is exactly the opposite and that some of the reactions that we have seen in this thread may play into the hands of those whose interests are met by creating fear and confusion.
-
Tongue in cheek.

If you can't see the difference between commenting on an observed football situation and attacks on a players integrity fonded on RUMOURS then the problem isn't mine. Have a go at Scully's kicking if you wish, I don't think it is reasonable to attack the integrity of one of our own. Some of the posts that have been deleted have been appalling and I won't repeat them. If you have a problem with protecting the interests of our club maybe you should question your own loyalties?
-
I think the attacks and questions over the integrity of one of the members of our football team have gone on long enough. We on Demonland are supporters of the Melbourne Football Club, many of the posts on this issue have been ridiculous, ill conceived and potentially destructive. I support the club's stance on this issue and believe they are handling it in the best interests of the future of the club. Any post which attacks the integrity of Tom Scully or has any such inference will be deleted. Unsubstantiated rumours will also be deleted and members banned if those rumours are found to be false. Any person inciting any unsportsmanlike or threatening gestures towards Tom Scully will also be banned. Please keep this discussion on track in the interests of the club, the player/s and the general sanity of the Demonland community.

I met a nice girl once, really wanted to marry her so I says to her you either marry me now or nick off. You gotta be strong and forceful, and if you someone won't do what you want them to you gotta make em, yeah.
