  1. Auction is open, we have shown recently that we only make one or two bids. I would suggest that if there is a club that really wants him they will get him. See what happens. Any mids with leadership want to come to the Dees?
  2. There were some fairly encouraging signs tonight. Clearances in particular. Tackling and pressure around the footy I think will be up 300% on three years ago. Our process going forward at times were a shambles but that can be fixed. Our kicking for goal in the last was horrendous. Haven't seen Lynden Dunn play that badly for a few years. There were still a few players that are out there that are not AFL standard. Hopefully we don't see too much of them this season.
  3. Yeah I'm sticking my neck out on him, I don't do it often. Just a feeling. Reckon he has some tricks, and and the mental tools. I am just as excited about him as anyone on our list. Tyson is another.
  4. I think he is one player who could be a genuine A grader.
  5. Pretty fair analogy mate. You are expecting our baby to get up and run. I will be happy with "significant progress" and a bit of respect. Our list was absolutely horrendous. We may have a list of players that are now capable of playing AFL standard football, let's see how that goes. I am looking forward to the season. I wouldn't put a ceiling on what can be achieved but I certainly wouldn't consider 8 wins a bust. As i said in my first post on this thread it will be about the vibe.
  6. Yeah mate. I am [censored] off at my nine month old because he won't walk. What a failure. Even when he tries to stand up, he keeps failing down. I am so sick of watching him grab on to stuff and try to take steps. he watches what I do and tries to emulate. Some would call that learning to walk or "progress". Not me, he is failing to walk. Probably won't amount to anything.
  7. What about if we look like we are actually learning how to win? If we bash up the Saints one week only to get flogged by the Hawks by 100 points the next I won't be happy. If we can keep our losses against the strong teams minimal, maybe even win a couple, or at least show that with some growth and experience we can knock them off soon that would be awesome. The key is doing that consistently....the whole season. Tyson, Salem, and Hogan consistently in the best....McDonald beating his man. Brayshaw and Stretch showing a bit.
  8. This is not how sporting groups or athletes operate.
  9. Yes because what we have endured logically equates to improvement of the football team. By that logic we have the next five flags in the bag. If we have six to eight wins and no, or very few losses over five goals and a cohesive football team that actually looks like it knows what it is doing then I will be happy. If we do better than that.....priapism. If we have a number of young players consistently in our best players then I will be happy. If there are 2 or 3 of those that exhibit some "star" quality I will be happier. If Roosy has to scratch his head most weeks and try to figure out who to leave out then I will be happy. We are building incrementally. I would like to see us reach the next increment (hopefully not excrement) competetently. I think one thing we all want is to go to the footy with excitement and not dread.
  10. He wasn't competing with him for a spot, he was competing with Wines and Cornes.
  11. I think Sylvia's career is at the crossroads.
  12. 8 wins is probably about right, but it's just as much about the vibe. Improving sides have a vibe.
  13. Hogan kicks eight = 7 days priapism. New word, love it.
  14. Poor old Tom Lay off him, he is just doing what we all dream of doing. Getting paid bucket loads of money to do sweet FA.
  15. Had to look that one up. Don't hit the images on your search engine at work.
  16. The world needs more well considered and moderate views like this one.
  17. That is one of the "so few" and he did well last year. Have a look at the list of those picked up by other clubs from the last seven years, it's a veritable "who the hell was that?".
  18. Let's just wait and see. If the club was blindsided by this then there is really no excuse. I suspect that will be the greater issue for the club rather than the offence which happened whilst he was on someone else's list. We bemoan tolerating Sylvia and his cohorts for years, you can't have it both ways.
