  1. What is a "real man"?
  2. Trade period hasn't started yet. I am actually fairly upbeat that we are going to improve our list considerably over the next couple of weeks. With a couple of experienced mids and some young strong types picked by someone other than Prendergast things could get markedly better. List improvements, class coach and a decent run with injury...........
  3. 1. get midfielder 2. get midfielder 3. get midfielder 4. get midfielder 5. get midfielder 6. get small forward
  4. Have read this twice....? If Roos wants him and he wants to stay, I would offer a year, that is plenty of time to see if he has the snickers. But the way contracts work they will probably have to agree on 2.
  5. I suppose I could have paraphrased all of the opinions in the thread from 2009 but I think it better that the opinions are presented in their original form. The problems with Jack Watts' game haven't changed since he played his first games at Casey. We now have answers to some of the questions we were asking. I look forward to moving on from discussing this bloke.
  6. It's been four years now. This player represents all that has been wrong with the club. No fire, little drive and no responsibility.
  7. Enjoying playing without fear and with support. Looking forwatd to watching a very good career unfold.
  8. I wonder if they invented Mayannaise
  9. Where am I? Oh this thread Carry on..
  10. Apparently it went to Blacktown just to have a look around.
  11. The OP asks in 2009 in JW was ready for senior footy and furthermore questions whether his decision to stay away from the contests was by his or the clubs design. Our development of these young guys has been appaling, in many ways we are starting again...again
  12. 2 years to go...
  13. Evidence based approach: I don't take drugs, I am not a drug addict. Ben Cousins takes drugs, bad things happen. I think the CIA are about to close this thread.
  14. I think you miss the point. Using Meth is dumb, continuing to use it is dumber. I am comfortable with that judgement thanks. I will tell my kids that it is dumb, just like my six siblings and I were taught by my folks. We had a few drug addicted people living in our house that were taken in by my mother when I was a teenager. One stayed with us for 2 years and lived in our loungeroom. I saw first hand what drug addiction did. As a result when my mates used to pull the bong out I would go home. Not everyone will have the conviction to do that, but I would rather take the honest approach rather than skirt around the issue. I like the Neeld approach to drugs.
  15. Rubbish argument have heard this one before too. You really want to compare Ben Cousins problems with my having a couple of glasses of red, or a couple of beers after mowing the lawns. In terms of risk it's a bit like comparing driving a car to jumping off a cliff.
  16. Yeah we get a choice. We live in permissive society that tells us "if it feels good do it". Sadly it is a great lie. I will be telling my kids that Ben Cousins is an idiot for doing what he does, not that he is a poor old addict that doesn't have a choice. So that they know that there is no grey area, illicit drug use is stupid, end of story. That does not mean that addicts don't deserve help or even compassion, but before they change they need to realise that it is the stupidity of thier actions that got them where they are. I know that rehab isn't a simple process, but making a judgement about the act of drug taking is fairly straightforward for me.
  17. We are getting into unfootbally areas but society breaks down when you fail to take responsibility for yourself and your actions. So yes Ben Cousin's has been an idiot. Ben Cousins has had the opportunity to decide whether he wants to continue to be an idiot, or whether he thinks it's time to stop being an idiot. It's his choice to make, it's just sad that his choices affect more than just himself, and that is the greatest tragedy of addiction.
  18. In Davis and McDonald we have a smokies, a couple of handy athletic defenders and good competitors.
  19. How GOOD is it to be able to talk about footy again!
  20. Politics is all about perceptions then results, perceptions can be percieved truth or actual truth. Football is about results, results are achieved when dealing with truths. They are very different games. What has been said about Aaron, that he will find himself in the twos if he doesn't perform to team principles? I should hope so. I would find any statement to the contrary offensive as a member.
  21. That is freaky, almost identical to my situation. I thought I could detect a similar sense of insanity and masochism in you.
  22. Hmm interesting read. Banana was jailed...for sodomy, just think about that a minute.
  23. Hi I'm Dan I like martial arts, cross stitch, long walks on the beach and cruising the local discoteque. I'm sure you're pleased to meet me.
  24. I have no idea what you are talking about.. I suspect that i won't be the only one. Clearly we won't be recruiting Fevola for the many compelling reasons that have been offered.
