Junior will play on,he's in our best 10 and we need his experience in finals next year.If this was his last year his farewell game would be round 22 at the G,do you really think a player of Junior's calibre/class wouldn't be farewelled by Melbourne on the G for all of us to say thanks & goodbye. Field the best team available,hopefully win next 2 games and finish 5 & 1 and be the best team outside the 8.The team will be pumped all preseason. If there must be a romantic undertone,Tapscott to debut in hometown @ AAMI. I'm not convinced he's earned it and no-one wants to debut on a freeby. Seeing as Port only attracted 14,000,maybe Tappy will bring a few more through the turnstiles!!!

Jonesy wasn't dropped,just rested.He pulled up very stiff and sore and had he played this week,he would've been the first mid to tire,so the bottom line is we need fresh legs after an interstate trip and Moloney and JT come in. Jonesy will rest up and he'll be ready to launch into the Hawks,if we don't cop an injury this week,someone else may be rested. Nothing sinister,just great management.

We've now won 3 of the last 4 and growing in confidence each week and i remember the Saints a few years ago won something like 9 of the last 11 which set them up for the following season. Most of us here predicted 7-8 wins this year and we've achieved that with 4 games to go and we probably should've won 2 more.If we do beat the Tigers next week and we play North for a spot in the finals,the whole club would believe we are on the right track which couldn't be said even 6-8 weeks ago.We are expecting to fight for a final 8 berth next year and if we did it this year,our preseason would be huge. Wooden Spoon to Wooden Spoon to 8th,now that would be something pretty special!!!

I'm all for rewarding a team that played well and we smashed a top 8 team so why change for change sake? It's always handy to have fresh legs come in after an interstate game,so Moloney and JT will be fresh for the Tigers.

I thought Joel played a pretty good game in front of Michael Voss watching in the stands.I'm amazed how good Joel is overhead,he takes marks when you're hoping for a good spoil and outreads his opponent time and again.He's a great pick up.Voss,what were you thinking??? But then again,Fevola for Bradshaw,Henderson and pick 12!!!

It will be interesting to see how this game plays out as these 2 teams have the most opposing gameplans in the comp with Sydney shutting down the game and trying to get as many stoppages around the ground and the Dees ranked no. 1 in playing on after taking a mark. Who runs with Goodes? Dunn & Bruce teaming him? Sydney will try and take advantage of our slow starts and hit the scoreboard early even though they aren't a fast starting side. Bails should tell the team we're playing the 3rd quarter first this week!!!

Yeah,the Suns it is. Pretty average but is it any worse than the Dockers or Power? I was hoping for the Sharks,i know Cronulla and Southport already have it but it was the best fit for me and there's a lot of Sharks up here of the human variety.

I'm a member of both the GC17 and Dees and spend time in both for business reasons.I think it'll be referred to as Gold Coast by most people and so it should be from a marketing perspective,the more people that say or think "Gold Coast" the better.GC17 has 8,000 members so far,which astounds me as there's no benefit of being a member this year because the GC games are free to get into anyway,although there is "Foundation Member" status which gives you the right to choose your reserved seat next year in the new 25,000 seat stadium.My GC mates are members of the Dees,Hawks,Dogs and Tiges and we're all GC members but when the GC play our "1st" teams,we all hope we [censored] the GC.Kind of strange but i won't be leaving my Dees behind and will wear my Dees jumper at Carrara for Dees V GC,to funny looks from GC members,i don't care i'm a Dee for life!!! To that poster that wrote "people just want the easy life by the beach on the Gold Coast",well unless you're retired or won lotto,nothing is easy no matter which part of the country you live in,you still have to work your AR$E off to get ahead and to provide the best life you can for your family,no matter where you live.Sure it's great waking up to a 23 degree day in boxer shorts and singlet everyday,when it's 7 degrees in Melbourne,3 degrees this morning,but if you work hard anywhere,you'll see the rewards and for me that's boating,golf 3 days a week and surfing at Snapper Rocks and D'ba a few mornings a week or taking the Mrs. for a drive down to Byron for the day.It's a great lifestyle up here,but i'd never say it's the easy life. The only place in the 8 up for grabs will be the Swans or Blues,so as we have the Swans (should win or no point playing finals)next week at the G,i'm hoping we beat Freo and Blues beat the Swans and then we've caught up 8 points on the Swans with the Lions and Tigers the following 2 weeks.If we can hold Pav to 3 goals,i reckon we'll beat Freo,they are decimated by injuries atm and sooner or later our forward line is going to tear a game apart,could it be this week on the big spaces of Subi,where our forwards will have loads of room. The last game i went to at Subi was in 2004 when Peter Vardy kicked 2-3 goals in the last quarter in pouring rain to win the game.We had a pre game breakfast at the Melbourne Hotel,not sure if they still do this but it was a great day with all the Western Demons.After the game all the players came into the rooms at the post match function,i remember it was Brock's debut game.Then it was a pub crawl until 2am.

Cheney won't be dropped,he's playing the Grimes role while he's out. You're all saying drop Cheney and bring in Bail,he can't play the Grimes/Cheney role.I liked Cheney's game yesterday especially when he went back into the pack and knew he was going to get hammered. Cheney is handy to have on our list because when Grimes or Bartram is out,he'll slot right in and when he gets 40-50 games under his belt,i'd have him in for Bartram.

You blokes are a joke!!! We have been the worst team for the last 3 years and we play one of the best teams in the last few years at Etihad where we never win and you guys expect a win!!! A 35 point loss is a win,especially when we haven't had our best forward line in all season. Anything less than an 8 goal loss is a fair effort as the Saints are easily a 2 goal a quarter better team than us.Take away Dunn's missed goal from 25 and Jamar's free goal for deliberate and it's a 4 goal game FFS! If you blokes seriously expected a win today at Etihad,you are either seriously delusional or know very little about the game. Which is it?

Out of 13 games this year we've only won 4 first quarters and Junior has played in all of them,a coincidence?After a PB of 38 disposals on QB against the Pies and a much highlighted clearance combo with Jamar,Moloney was heavily tagged which resulted in a 5 stat first half.Jones tagged Thompson and we had no chance of winning the clearances.The Crows were fierce at the ball and we just watched,we were second to the ball all day which starved our forwards which resulted in 29 inside 50's,it was amazing Bate kicked 4.1 which was a score one in six inside 50's. Bottom line is Junior must play on next year,i'm not convinced Moloney and Jones will make us a top 4 midfield and until we toughen up mentally,we won't play finals.Crows won the second half 53-50,we only start playing when we are behind and we have a challenge in front of us.

When LJ is ready to come back in,Watts should go back to Casey and kick 4,6,5,3,7 bags to get his confidence back. He needs big hauls at VFL level before he moves up to AFL level. In his defence,you wouldn't want to be a forward for the Dees at the moment,today the midfield got smashed which heaped pressure on our backline and cut off supply to our forward line,it was amazing Bate kicked 4.1 today.

Crows are old and tiring,loving Grimes in the midfield,5 goal to 1 3rd quarter,4 goal game. Fitter team will win. Can't wait until we start playing first quarters!!!
