  1. I really reckon we can AF. The playing (and possibly coaching) group now has some unwanted life experience. I suspect they were complacent at the end of last year (in addition to all of the other factors that stuffed our season which are well known), and I hope this complacency has been knocked out of them owing to the horrendous howler that was 2019. Nothing is to be taken for granted now. And I forgot to mention Fritsch in our forward line - he’s a gun. We just need to add the forward 50 delivery, which was sadly lacking this year. I hope recruiting Langdon and Tomlinson will address this.

$$$ - and you’re automatically in their best 22. Must be better than playing in the VFL for 80% of the season at a better club.
  3. Super happy about this one. Trading our second rounder always delivers top value. I can’t wait to see him with ball in hand running down the wing at the G sussing out forward options (with a fit and in form T Mac, Weid, Melksham, Petracca, Hannan and [insert forward gut busting running mid] demanding the ball). We could turn this ship around faster than everyone thinks.
  4. I’m satisfied with Langdon and Tomlinson - but I was just hoping for one more trick eg, Elliott, Sam Gray or Butler. I’m now hoping they split pick 3 and get two or three really good first round standard kids. And perhaps Sam Murray as a DFA.

Totally agree - it's literally doing my head in. For the first time in years, I wish the club was far less professional and leaked absolutely everything. I need to know what's going on!

Yeah, it’s absolutely depressing. I hate Carlton. How we got slotted for tanking and they didn’t still baffles me.

Would’ve prefered Jamie Elliott. I’d also offer Jeffy a rookie contract over Menzel every day of the week.
  8. I always liked Richardson as an opposition coach and for his commentary on 360. He strikes me as a knowledgeable and empathetic man. A great hire IMO.
  9. I would absolutely love to see this bloke back at the Dees one day.

It would’ve been ludicrous to think that, at the end of 2018, any free agent (already based at a Melbourne club) would choose Brisbane over us, if they were to make a move (assuming commensurate offers from the Lions and the Dees). It shows just how bad 2019 was for us. That said, I’ve heard that we’re still up to our eyeballs in this one. It’s not over. Not yet anyway.
  11. Kevin Sheedy. Twice. And not selecting him as our coach in 2007 proved to be an absolute howler.

Clearly the charisma guy at any social gathering.
  13. Classy. I’ll bet you have no friends or influence outside of the dark room where you sit each night on the computer wish thinking to yourself that you’re Rocky Balboa. Fair dinkum.

I don’t mind paying overs for this dude - we need him.
  15. Would’ve liked to have seen us retain Frost, but not on his terms. I reckon we’ll be okay.
  16. Yep, I read that too. Disappointing really. It was simply wish thinking.
  17. We have absolutely nailed trading this pick each year for a while now: Vince, Melksham, Hibberd and now Langdon. I’m just hoping we manage to nail pick 3 and pick up Elliott. And somehow get Yze back to the club.
  18. It’s not actually so easy when there’s not mutuality (and acceptance) between the parties as to the underlying decision. I.e. when one party intends to stick to/enforce the terms of the contract. I expect that’s what’s happened here. It’s a real shame.

Aren’t they the rules? I’m actually Ron Burgundy. Just fyi.
  20. A few more honourable losses this year would've been gratefully received. At the very least, it would've improved our percentage.

I was excited when I first heard that we were in the mix to land him. He’s just what we need. I’m no longer excited at all, as it seems we’ve got no chance of landing him. I reckon he’ll stay at the Pies - but, if not, it seems he’ll be playing for the Haws. That said, I like supporting an ordinary club - it shows more character.

Elliott absolutely fills a need for us. Would be an excellent recruit. I celebrated Collingwood’s loss just a little bit more because I thought it’d enhance our chances of landing him.
  23. Who would you have brought in? Serious question - as I’m not sure who else would seriously have been in the mix for this role, and Richardson’s services were apparently very much in demand.
  24. Seems as though Worsfold owes Richardson a beer.
  25. Have you ever heard Mitch Robinson talk?
