  1. That's ducking, as she put her head lower as she was approached.
  2. What was that 50 for? But we'll take it. Go Kate....
  3. Bloody hell, so many throws...
  4. (just caught up on Kayo) The girls have started well, playing very well. haven't watched a north game all year. But we need to keep our structure in the fwd 50 to contest the ball coming quickly out of packs. North spread really well and are well drilled. Shut that down like we have, north arn't as dangerous., especially if you stop them getting out the back. Looks like we spent a lot of time prepping to play North. Just praying we can sustain it for the whole game.
  5. Thanks for the thread, I was wondering what had happened also. We obviously planned to match the big if someone did bid. To say no clubs rated him is most likely not true. Just not enough to put in a bid as he was committed to the dee's.
  6. an unexpected pick 12, on memory so was Jackson and Koz a few years ago. JT see's what we need in this kid and he's got Koz to learn from and play with. Makes us much more dynamic when he get on the park with the top side this year/. (I expect he'll get good game time at least early in the season)
  7. could also grow a bit more yet. But not for May's role. Good choice, hopefully he grabs it and makes the most of the opportunity.
  8. Wow, cant believe he's only 23. This is really his chance to get a regular AFL spot with the new coach.
  9. At last a win from behind against a good side. I thought it was going to be a repeat of previous games with a fast start and then lose control in the middle of the game. Great to se them take control again. Roo's going to be a big challenge. Got a week to get the prep right.
  10. Didn't see the game, just the final score. Is it simply a case of the Roos' being way ahead, as just the flow of the game.
  11. So important that we win this week, beyond the obvious, We want to avoid the roos as long as possible.
  12. Need a big 4 qtrs, we didn't match the lions until he end in the last game, but they'll learn from that. Looking forward to seeing the girls go straight to the Prelim, fingers crossed.
  13. Good result and even better to win he first final and avoid the rules until hopefully a berth.
  14. That's the issue with Tassie, a small population and no tax base. They can't afford to run their hospitals themselves. In reality if they want it, they need to get federal / corporate funding. Get some gambling company but the rights to it.
  15. have we removed possible "culture" issues from the team to drive it forward. Lyon likened it to blight coming in a cleaning house at Adelaide before they won those flags. I believe it's done. I also believe the young kids are able to step up now. Whether they can last a season is another question. The big question, most likely for the next podcast? With 5 ont he bench will we get in a second ruck to prolong max's career. Or he needs consistent kicking at goal as he's a monster mark in the forward line.
  16. Ia free they seem to be a common factor. But in that finals series we cost ourselves the games with our ability to score due to an inept forward line structure.
  17. Pity he didn't make it. As noted above. What has happened to our player development. Do we need to improve it as so many of our younger players who were not 1st round picks rarely make it. It also shows that only a small percentage of Father/Sons become great players and the rule should remain. the pies and Brisbane sons are an exception.
  18. Got a strong hand in this draft that was not planned. Canโ€™t really assess until after the draft selections.
  19. A lot of water to go under the bridge for this trade. the word is he wants to come back to Victoria. essentially a win win for both of us if done now. Given it still many days to go they'll keep talking in private to work out a deal, they have the capital and players to get a good deal for us. Look at Geelong and their pitch for Curnow. If clubs want something they'll make either ahhpen.
  20. I thought the pies love for Buckley was bad when he played by Eddie. This is another level of dawning for a guy that comes second. At least Eddie didnt try to change how they worked for Bucks to win everything.
  21. We had no power really as he was out of contract and could have just walked to the eagles in the PSD with no compensation. No in terms of picks, 23 is reasonable for where he was at. The problem is the draft system with all the academy picks and other incremental changes is pushing what would be a fair pick at 23 far further down the list. Now its the jobs of the team to find a gem at 23 for the team
  22. I was reading we offered 3 1st rounders for essondon's pick to get him at the time before the suns. We obviously really rated him.
  23. If the Sun really want him then they'll offer a good deal. They have lots of picks and players to get the deal done, as their pipeline will mean what they trade can be replaced.
  24. We really need to split this thread into a Teac and clarry individual ones with all thatโ€™s going on. Gold Coast is better for us. We have Flanders down at the club. J suggest him and 1 min first rounder and something else.
  25. The fixture is great, especially if we dont meet them until the GF by winning the first week of finals.
