VOTES: Rd 19 vs Fremantle
6 McVee. Stood up under fierce heat. Kid is so composed 5 McDonald. The wide vision on TV was damning. On transition the only bloke running with intent was 94 year old TMac 4 JVR. Sadly is the second best ruck at the club. Competed against the odds & showed a bit forward 3 Petty. Sadly is the third best ruck at the club. Competed against the odds & showed a bit around the ground 2 May. Had a crack, showed some passion & comittment 1 Billings. Also damning. Did more in a half than most of our mids contributed for the game

Comings and Goings
Luci / R&B forever's contracts thread is usually spot on. It has Hunter's contract ending in 2024

Comings and Goings
I recall an interview a few years ago where TMac said he'd like to play until he was 35. That was before his most recent foot injuries. In a couple of interviews this year he's stated that he's treating 2024 as his last year and he was determined to enjoy it, whether he was playing at AFL or VFL level. I think he's surprised himself and the club with his form this year. If his body holds up for the remainder of the season, I doubt it would take much to convince him to go around again

NON-MFC: Round 19
Towards the end of the second quarter I thought I was a chance to enjoy a 10 goal Essendon loss. This was much, much better

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Essendon VFL
Well that's taken a bit of fun out of proceedings

Oscar Allan
We had him. And then his whole bloody team turned up at his house and convinced him to remain an Eagle. Bastids !

Too Predictable
Four consecutive seasons ? That had me intrigued so I had to check it out. Fred Fanning. Before him Norm Smith. That's it. Neita headed our goal kicking 7 times over 12 years. Robbo 4 over 9 seasons. Jaka 3 in a row from 91 and Robbie also led the list 3 times across his career. The Wiz was a 3 time leader as well, including a tie with Neita. Mark Jackson led it in his first season as a Demon. In his second & final year, Gerard Healy beat him by a goal & Jacko was filthy on it. I don't subscribe to the Fritta is overrated school of thought. In fact I reckon his results have added merit because he's had to do it in Stafford's forward setup.

Cash. If the FD believe he's the man to take over from Max on a long term basis then overpay him. Offer him the last couple of years of his apprenticeship on foreman's wages.

NON-MFC: Round 12
Chris Daniher was interviewed on the radio this week. He mentioned that Neale could still walk and that the ability to do so helps keep him positive. Amazing man the Rev.

A chance gone begging. Could have been better. Looked like a "football act" to me.

Sunday footy show - Who is the greatest Demon of all time?
A year or so ago there was a thread along the the lines of “Your 5 Greatest Demons”. My mum came up through the glory years and she and her twin sister would get on the train and go to watch the Dees nearly every Saturday. So I asked for her 5 greatest. After a few days consideration she said it was too hard. Whenever she thought of one player she’d be reminded of other great players from that team. She said Barassi’s determination & will to win set him apart but his skills weren’t up to a lot of the other greats. As a young lass she wanted to marry Laurie Mithen. Some of the names she brought up included Don Williams, Noel McMahen, Stuey Spencer & “Doc” Roet. She did have a clear # 1 and 2 though. Robbie at 1 and Clarrie at 2. Robbie she says is self explanatory for anyone who watched him play. She reckons Clarrie can do things no one else she’s seen can do. She’s amazed by his hands. Foe me it’s Flower & Schwarz of those I’ve seen. Historically, for impact on the club I’d go Norm Smith whose playing career often seems overshadowed by his coaching. His protege Ron Barrassi as well.

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
Minimum 4 weeks I'd reckon. VFL and AFL have slightly different disciplinary systems so it's hard to line up this incident with similar ones at AFL level. Dog act though. Totally unnecessary

Training Ground?
If you'd read the thread properly you'd have comprehended that I was commenting specifically on Geelong & the disproportionate amount of government funding they've received. Now they are being gifted a new scoreboard. [censored]. No theories, conspiracy or otherwise, were advanced in my post.
