  1. Stress fractures I thought. Which he had prior to training with us. I also heard that the club were not at all thrilled that he'd failed to fully disclose his injury. If there's anything more to it than this I'd love to know. From the list Taylor Walker would be the pick of them. He can play although I suspect he'd prefer to be lining up where Kurt Tippet does. He's looked down on confidence this year. I guess the way the Crows have moved the ball forward hasn't helped any of their forwards. Walker is way better than he's showing at the moment (as is Porplyzia, Tippet etc etc)
  2. Can remember him coming out of retirement for a few games to help out the seconds when we were chronically short of fit players. Wore number 60 with his fat guts hanging out the bottom. Still busted his arse trying to help out the young kids. You don't do that sort of thing if you don't care about the club.
  3. He is a bloody good player Kennedy. Was a real handful for us last year at the G when he booted 4 I think. He has further improved since then. Interesting to note how long he took to establish himself. It's not easy for young key forwards to have an immediate impact ! Or so I'm told.
  4. Thomo you got this badly wrong. There are a number of posts that tell the true picture. The right thing to do would be admit you're mistaken & then change the thread title. It looks poor.
  5. The kids backed a winner. DB copped Tool of the Week.
  6. This is what they rely on Jaded. Demand significantly exceeds supply & they are making a killing on reserved seating. It's big enough for them to make a decent gate but not so big that punters can just rock up & sit where they like.
  7. Can't see that happening Kit. I can forgive the odd missed shot at goal & his occasionally bizarre decision making. Dunn's main problem is deeper than that. Nasher touched on it when he referred to a "lack of composure". He is a squib. Hears footsteps. Shirks. It's been going on since his very first game (squibbed his very first contest). I have tried to make excuses for him because I believe he has a fair bit of ability but after last night I never want to see him shaming Rod Grinter's #14 jumper again. I am sick of pathetic one handed marking "attempts". Of running under the ball rather than going for the mark & copping contact from behind. Belting that dwarf Harvey does not make you tough or courageous. Flying for a mark, knowing your are going to get cleaned up does. When you compare a bloke the size of Tom Thumb Scully hurling himself into the path of Hamish McIntosh against some of Dunn's efforts you quickly realise that some blokes are gold & some need to be cut adrift. That's how I feel about Dunn. It's a bloody shame because I've followed him closely as I always thought he could play but blokes like that will let you down when it really counts.
  8. I think we have a need for a quality small defender. A replacement for Wheels. Bennell, Cheney & others have been tried but for various reasons, don't provide the full package. A 20yo David Wirrpanda would be great.
  9. I think Ravi has got to the guts of the PJ question. For a bloke his size, with his athleticism, speed & skills to be a hopeless mark above his eyes - it's like God made the perfect modern day ruckman & at the last moment decided to take the [censored]. I think Rhino refers to him as a 200cm winger & he's not far off the mark. Johnson has a lot that's good but when it comes to catching the ball - I'd prefer we had Sharelle McMahon out there. On the bright side, the team is kicking the ball a bit better this season so maybe he'll get more opportunities - chest high, lace out. Anything else & Sharelle's the better man.
  10. Totally over the top response. What were you thinking ? Give yourself an uppercut
  11. No he didn't. Not even by our shite standards of 2009 could you have called any of his games great. A couple were serviceable at best. It's got me stuffed how this myth started.
  12. Her gender is not an issue. Her voice is. Bloody horrible. It's like listening to Kelvin Cunnington calling the footy without the giggling. Can't stand her on the netball either
  13. Fair bump rpfc - the Geelong comparison you made is interesting in the light of a couple of articles in last weekends papers. 5 more wins & that poor bugger gets to step off the train from Greensborough & drop his tweeds. That'll be a longer walk than any of Michael Long's.
  14. Petterd was suggesting that Sylvia should have handballed to him in the play just prior to the siren. I think Col was explaining why he didn't. Both had a reasonable case to argue.
  15. Niall was on SEN earlier this arvo pumping us up even more. He made the point that Bailey had been prepared to make tough calls from day 1, using the TJ trade as an example. He was very enthusiastic about MFC - you'd almost think he was on our staff. Pretty sure the same bloke's given us a couple of whacks in the recent past
  16. I think you're making stuff up. His kicking has been ordinary for a couple of years now. Ask any Crows fan. While he's been a damn good player, I don't want him back. It's poor form to me that a player would do his development at one club, give his prime years to another & then return to the original club to play for his superannuation.
  17. One of the more puzzling statements I've read on here. Please illuminate further. The Scott Thompson I've been watching these past years would struggle to have visited the goal square.
  18. Not having Foxtel, I've used the BigPond replay site a fair bit over the past few years & it's been great. Particularly after enduring weeks of floggings it's been good to be able to go back & find a game where we either won or played well. I'm also ADSL2+ and while you'd get the occasional buffering issue, this weeks replay has been ridiculous. Hit the feedback button people & tell them it's stuffed - it usually gets fixed. The Crows game had the first quarter loaded four times rather than the whole match. They fixed that. Shouldn't happen though - someone has dropped the ball in there this year
  19. Read it properly you two. It's his best 22 Queenslanders currently in the AFL. There ain't that many of them so Miller gets a run. As does Beams' brother
  20. After getting home from Saturday's game I viewed every article I could find online. I looked at every highlight available & trawled our websites lapping up the enthusiasm of our supporters. Even went to BigFooty & enjoyed the favourable comments from the challenged multitudes over there. It is so bloody nice to feel good about the footy again after enduring the last few years. It is so good to feel that Melbourne is getting some respect back. For the last 18 months I've had to rely on Big Jimmy & Martin Flanagan to remind me how great this club is. Mind you, the last few years have been a walk in the park compared to shite that was the 70's. The fire has certainly started & while it is still very early days, I'm looking forward to watching the flame get fanned
  21. I don't think Warnock deserved an opportunity under Daniher. He was largely tripe at Sandy & showed nothing, nothing to suggest he would be an AFL level player let alone a KPP. I admit I was keen to see him cut three years ago. Very happy to be proved wrong & hope he continues to prove me wrong for a good few years.
  22. Reckon you might want to read the thread title ( & subtitle)
  23. Petterd was between forward flank & forward pocket when Bate grabbed the ball - he kept running to the square after Bate kicked it towards Dunn. But Bate should have spotted Ricky though & passed to him. Thought Bate was ok on Saturday - maybe drifted out in & out a bit. Watched the replay & thought Bate was a fair bit better than ok. Very important lead up target, especially in the first quarter when we were trying to get some reward for effort on the scoreboard. Wouldn't contemplate dropping him.
