The ferals sitting near us where more interested in rubbing every goal and decision that went their way into us Melbourne supporters than cheering on their team. Wasn't just an isolated group it was multiple.

Our set up from opposition kick ins was horrible last night. They went end to end on so many occasions after we kicked a point. The most infuriating was after Ben Brown took his full 30+run up time and missed. So roughly 40 seconds for us to set up/man up if/when he missed. Collingwood took it end to end uncontested , pretty sure they scored a goal from memory

Yep Hoskin Elliott 0 possessions in the 1st qtr, 4 in the next 1 and a half. I would've subbed sparrow for harmes

Nailed it. I had flashbacks to 2017-18 as well.

I don't really think it's a forward coach problem I think it's a whole coaching philosophy of low risk play the % based footy we play. We are coached to not take risks entering the forward 50 which is why we often hold the ball up allow numbers into the forward line and kick to the pocket and try lock it in so we can set up defensively instead of taking a risky kick to a 50/50 which could result in turnover. We need a balance of both and right now players are in the moment playing too conservative entering 50

Agree, every other club has caught up with the fact you can sub out a player and say they are injured just as Collingwood did tonight with Hoskin Elliott who had 4 touches until he got " injured" late in the 3rd

I just watched McRae's presser and it was interesting the contrast with Goody's who usually is pretty straight bat. What impressed me about McRae was how he referenced what Collingwood wanted to do, how it wasn't working and the they changed things at half time. Goody I feel is unable to adapt and change and has too much faith in the Melbourne way prevailing

He was Langdon's man. I was livid all game at the amount of space sidebottom found himself in
-
Oliver tried hard and 40+is a good stats but I didn't think he was as effective as usual. Too many handballs not to advantage and he didn't run out of the contest as well as he has been doing most of the year

Yep. I know exactly what our players will do , every time we have possession from a mark, free kick, or kick in. It's all % based and works mostly. But being so predictable is starting to be found out by sides who adapt and take some risks

I was on Jordons wing all night, we worked his guts out and one of our better players I thought. Actually was looking to attack most of the time
-
This. Brayshaw moves back to the wing/half back. We miss Bowser's ability to create and kick a 20-30 m 45 degree kick that turns defence into an offence. All our defenders kick long down the line and we just need to mix it up
-
Same I sat in a Melbourne area that borders the MCC and they're fans where not interested in sticking it to us then cheering on their team
-
In the end got what we deserved
-
A couple of goals kicked on him where of the opponent the either lever, may or Petty where on before they went to the bench. Our 3 bigs are coming off too much
-
They have gotten each arsey goal and 2 gifts from the umps. We just need to keep up the pressure in the 2nd half and we got this.

Gave me the sh it's as well

Eddie Betts opens up on the weird camp
Bates Mate replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pyke didn't show good judgement or leadership. He either thought what was happening was ok which is a worry or wasn't strong enough to stand up and say what was happening isn't right. As the coach he is the most senior figure that the playing list, young men look up to, he failed them -
My amatuer analysis concurs with your rain radar read
-
Pretty steady rain now
-
I'm 6 km from the ground. Light drizzle. It's cloudy and I think may rain during the game but dossent look like it will be heavy like last week against Freo.
-
And Gawn played out the game with the ankle injury he missed weeks with

Park in a carpark on Flinders st. Tram or walk from there. That's the quickest way out. The car park is closed for 20 minutes after the game at the MCG. You'll be in your car and away before the MCG car park opens let alone get out of it
