  1. Gardiner, Cousins and Carroll to line up for the same team.
  2. Heard it myself. Said he has sworn off drinking during the season.
  3. You are joking. Matlock like me is one of the few lawyers in the world to win every case.
  4. I repeat my earlier post. This thread is becoming ridiculous. There could be a hundred reasons why this has happened. Let me give you one possibilty. "His health or a member of his family's suddenly became a cause for concern." or another, "his family situation changed." Why blame anyone before we know the real reason?
  5. Ian had been in poor health for some time. My sincerest condolences to his family on their sad loss. He was one of the greatest Demons ever as a player, coach and President of the club. He was truly a lovely man to know and he bled red and blue. This is a sad day for all Demons fans. RIP Ian.
  6. What a great birthday your daughter could have cheering with her friends for her dad as he plays for Demonland. They could all have a picnic at the ground and become lifelong demons. Hope she has a wonderful birthday anyway.
  7. A part of the deal might involve the occasional short training session on the G. You can halve the km estimate to Gosch's paddock. Don't think it would hurt an AFL footballer to walk 400-500 metres to training. If their rooms were shiny and new, fitted out with all the latest equipment and they were in the G, I think you would see a skip in the step of the Dees, as they walked to and from Gosch's paddock. If this realignment of the MCC and MFC happens it will be the salvation of the club. As an added extra, the G will truly become our home and the other clubs will be nothing more than match day visitors.
  8. Two days left to sort it out before the next delisting deadline.
  9. A "tautology" or an "oxymoron". If you know what happened you wouldn't need to speculate.
  10. With the presenters being some Melbourne players in suits.
  11. Unless we actually know what happened, why waste time and effort speculating.
  12. What might assist in not having an election and saving the cost is for Jim to outline in response to his comment " much has been done" , what exactly has been done. That would allow potential board members to evaluate for themselves whether the board is achieving something and should be left unchallenged, at least for the current AGM.
  13. I left out Frawley but the others named are flankers. I certainly agree that if there is a better option than Dawson we should take it. He is only a suggestion.
  14. Our best rarely gets on the park, another had his first batch of games at 24 and a third is in his first real year and could go forward and the last also in his first year may be needed to help Jamar. ( Rivers, Warnock, Garland, Martin.) Most good judges and coaches say you build a team from the backline.
  15. I am sure there are still a few uncontracted players out there and if we were to act aggressively it should be possible to entice one that we want, to not sign and agree to go in the PSD. It won't happen of course.
  16. Should be OK if Mrs Redleg doesn't need me.
  17. Two years ago he didn't finish his vegetables at dinner and he was sent to bed early.
  18. Not to mention a lawyer, as I was out there pretty quickly and helped him off the ground. Not bad, the coach doubling as a trainer.
  19. Love your sentiment.
  20. Seems some may have missed a little snippet. Allegedly CJ's new contract with Melbourne may have contained a performance clause to activate the second year. Add that to a higher unconditional two year contract from the Blue scum and we can begin to understand why CJ may have declined our offer. The real question is have we been outbid or have we manufactured his departure leaving his dignity intact as the son of a former club great. As a side issue, he has to get past a few clubs before he gets to the Blue scum, unless of course they use pick 40 in the draft, which would be a heavy payment for a player they offered pick 100 for.
  21. He could be taller than Robert Warnock by draft time.
  22. If you are correct I would do a press release giving our new sponsor some publicity. In that release I would mention without stating the figures that the sponsorship was impacted by the fixture. I would then mention that as a result of the acknowledged poor draw our claim under the CBF will be greater this year and that as long as the league continues to rig the draw in favour of some teams the price to be paid is increased equalization payments by the AFL to the disadvantaged. I would also work out what the actual loss is going to be all up and publicize that figure so the whole footy world is aware of what is being done and understands the need for increased equalization funding. This funding needs to be removed from the charity pigeon hole and placed in the compensation one.
  23. Good luck with the knee Rivvo.
  24. Still needs a fair degree of improvement if he is to get a game with the Dees. He is definitely hard at the contest and that is a big positive.
