I would be on the phone to Connors and Port to get him to come to us. If he goes in the PSD he is just about a certainty as Tippett goes to GWS and GC may well opt out with a full list. Port are going to get Jurrah for nothing and don't want North to do the same to them, after intransigent negotiating during trade period. He would be a great get for us and we can take out the uncertainty for him as I am sure another Vic club will grab him in the ND before North. Unless we have a much better prospect I would go hard. We need mids.

I really don't like the bit about the investigators reinterviewing witnesses that have different views to the ones they want to hear. There is clealry coercion going on and to be honest it is quite unsavoury. Carlton were rung up and asked did you tank, they said no and case closed. Ours however has become a witch hunt. It really is unsavoury. Now that the man in charge has said he didn't tank and didn't ask others to tank, that is the end. CC could have said anything he liked. The Coach has said he didn't do it and therefore the rule has not been breached and the AFL if it had any decency left should end this now. Melbourne should start calculating the damage it has suffered because of this investigation.

It seems some in the media and the football world are starting to see this for what it really is. There are articles and statements coming out defending us and telling the AFL not to act like a bully, against a weak club that has hardly benefited from what many did and benefited heavily from doing. The blame is being put at the feet of the AFL for creating the system and then embracing and condoning it.

Can fully understand.

Perhaps Wilson should be charged for bringing the game into disrepute, for making it appear an AFL Investigation has leaked info to a journo.

Half the people in the room were recruiting people who have nothing to do with match day and are not coaches. To tell the whole room that you will all be sacked is obviously a joke. Then he leaves. He is trying to be funny which he has done at every function I have seen him at. So he comes uninvited into a meeting and says "you will all be sacked if we lose the draft pick and Jimmy has fallen out of his hospital bed" and then leaves. Gee that sounds real serious. If he wanted to tank he need only quietly mention it to Bailey not in front of 15 witnesses. Get a grip, it's a bloody joke.

I have this feeling that since GWS will be delivered Tippett on a plate, free of charge, they may now not opt for Grundy. That puts Wines at risk.
