If the latest CW article is an accurate account of the AFL case, without any admission by the Coach, we have no case to answer. All that I can see that is alleged, is a comment by CC and a reaction by CS. Both have different explanations. No one has admitted to actually tanking.

If he is a free agent, can't he just be taken if he agrees by tuesday 13th? In other words he doesn't have to be drafted.

That is the part I find really scary. What gives me hope is that it is a new FD. I am sure Neeld and the other coaches as well as recruiters will all have input into our selections especially the first one. I just hope they get it right.

I admit to not seeing either boy play. I have just watched the highlights of each and purely and solely from that I would take Wines. He did what O'Rourke did but also got the hard balls and tackles like a mad man. He also looked more ready to play early, being more physically developed. Being a good mate of JV is a plus.

Just watched the first half of Dees v GC at the G on Fox Footy. Morton had 1 possie i saw and put it out of bounds. Gysberts looked apathetic, got a couple of possies and then turned them all over. He didn't tackle, chase and basically spectated. Beamer did nothing other than point which he does very well. Can only say they were pathetic that day. I am sure they would agree.

With Stiller retiring and no mention of Jacobs or anyone else, it is possible we have identified a couple of players we think we can get with later picks. I hope though we have identified someone for the PSD, as it would be a shame to waste what might be the first live pick, if GWS take Tippett and GC don't participate.

I would be on the phone to Connors and Port to get him to come to us. If he goes in the PSD he is just about a certainty as Tippett goes to GWS and GC may well opt out with a full list. Port are going to get Jurrah for nothing and don't want North to do the same to them, after intransigent negotiating during trade period. He would be a great get for us and we can take out the uncertainty for him as I am sure another Vic club will grab him in the ND before North. Unless we have a much better prospect I would go hard. We need mids.
