THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo
Redleg replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think there is a rule that AFL licenced personnel, players, coaches, officials etc, must co-operate with an investigation. Co-operation doesn't mean putting up with threats and intimidation though. Disgraceful conduct by the AFL investigators if true. -
THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo

Agree Sue. You actually only need to ask one question to see if players money should be in the salary cap. To Visy I would ask " how many players from other clubs get the same deal as the 15 Blues players, including the massive amount for Judd from your company? It's the former Carlton President's company and now the Vice President's. Give me a break. Give them as much as they want, but it goes in the salary cap, where it belongs. -
Yes. I actually signed up as a GWS member and player sponsor and found that to my surprize, I was already featured being interviewed on a DVD/video, clearly made weeks before my visit, endorsing the club and dressed in my new GWS track suit.

THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo

I am getting sick of this "inquisition", which is what it is. Threatening and intimidating of witnesses belongs somewhere else than an AFL investiagation. Computers now confiscated. I think the next step should be forceful injection of truth serum, to any witness who has given a statement the investigators didn't want to hear. Are we now living in Russia? We have had the man who made the famous remark state it was a joke, several players including the captain, who have said they did their best and the Coach admit only to experimentation and list management. Why then if this is the case is this this still an ongoing investigation? Why also are we the only club being investigated when the Tigers Coach has admitted a breach of Rule 19A to get Cotchin, he admitted doing nothing which is a clear breach of not performing on his merits and the Blues with Fevola and Libba both saying they tanked. Yet on the word of a former player with a less than perfect reputation who has never used the words "tank" or "deliberately lost", we are being subjected to the most intense AFL Investigation ever. All of this after the AFL CEO has cleared and endorsed our behaviour. I am sorry but this is now a bloody joke and a major embarrassment to the game and the AFL running it. -
Hypothetically, the Toumpa & Wines not available?
Redleg replied to dee-luded's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am sure your avatar is staring at me. -
My project players are Evans and Fitzpatrick. Could throw Maxie in as well.

He will, start looking at next year's kids.

Lets get the whole Hakawi tribe. -
Is it my maths or yours but I make it 3 1/2 at your time of posting.

Presumably after the drafting has all finished.

Has Wilson got the inside mail on that story as well?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JIMMY TOUMPAS
Redleg replied to Demanding Success's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought all along that GWS would go lachie, Grundy and Toumpas but then along came the Tippett issue and I changed my mind on Grundy. Now there is speculation they will overlook Toumpas. I am confused and have no idea now what will happen other than to assume it's Wines unless Toumpas is available. We will soon know. -
Yes it was. In Sydney at airport and can't wait to get back to all the salary cap scandals. Forget our little issue this is serious and the AFL must concentrate on this.

It is now a pity that we couldn't do better on our trading negotiation, as I and others have written. Better trading would have got us higher picks to use as we now have a few extra picks. In the end we may very well get the blokes we want but on face value we could have improved our position.

Correct WJ we are on a 60's & 70's music cruise. Never seen so many people dancing. Saw the best Queen cover band ever and the lead singer was Freddy's double both in looks and voice. Beat less and ccr cover bands also brilliant. My feet are killing me from non stop dancing. I am getting fitter maybe Neeld will give me a chance, he has drafted every other old player around, only joking. Seems like a few other clubs have cap problems, especially carlscum, great. Looking forward to getting back on Sunday and catching up with training.

It shows how down we all are when any bit of good news sends us into raptures. BTW a drop of Khalua in the old banana smoothie can sure change the flavour.

The brief to Ray Finkelstein QC: what does it mean for the MFC?
Redleg replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
On BP's track record I would have preferred Finkelstein to have done our drafting. -
The brief to Ray Finkelstein QC: what does it mean for the MFC?
Redleg replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
Number 1 based on his IQ and draft number 126 as he was so small. -
Demonland has certainly hotted up today. This draft unfettered. New player Tom Gillies. A QC hired by the MFC. I feel a celebratory banana smoothie coming on.

For those who don't know Ray, he is the size of Paul Callery with an intellect the size of Aaron Sandilands. -
No charges laid, no decision and no penalties ahead of draft

The 2021 draft will be the best in AFL history. I have seen the 9 year olds play. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM GILLIES
Redleg replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Since we could have first live pick, if Tippett goes to GWS and GC don't participate, it could be handy if someone falls out with his club. Also it would be the only way we could get Ben Jacobs if he agreed to come to us. -

You have it right HT. Just took away some uncertainty at 53 for a developed player from a good club. Similar size to Rivers and 6 years younger. Hopefully he can play. -

I would think that we would have to let him know if we want him soon, or otherwise we are stuffing up his chances. If he goes into the ND, then we have passed on him. If not he is probably ours. Don't know a lot about him but he is our favourite height 192cms. -
Note that timing is everything. North case out of the way. Crows by next tuesday. Then AFL staff fly out to GC for a couple of days sun and relaxation before the draft. After the draft a couple more days in the sun and then home. Dees inquiry will go on until nearly xmas and IMO then be abandoned. AFL staff then off to xmas holidays.
