  1. Our favourite Melbourne supporter sinks the boot in again. OTC monday he said "I guarantee Melbourne won't win a flag by 2030". If only we had more like him. It's like having a skunk for a pet.
  2. Lets not waste our time talking about Jordie. He is doing his job and doing it well. Plenty of others who don't and worse can't.
  3. Could be worse, we could be playing him in the wrong sport.
  4. I think we will keep him for one more year in hope, as it would be too much of an embarrassment to admit we stuffed up with pick 12 . There are enough others who have had a chance and been found wanting who will go first. If he gets another year he will have to show something or he will be gone. It has been suggested to me that we might delist and rookie him. No danger of anyone else grabbing him.
  5. So clearly a side that didn't need to not win, as they couldn't win anyway.
  6. Hopefully not a concern as both WCE, Geelong and North games are over before we play. If North smashes GWS, Fre would know how much they can beat us by without losing 8th spot, if WCE are in 5th. For that matter I think Freo would prefer Pies over Cats as first up opponent if it's over here .
  7. Next we will have a thread on our poor drafting. Oops!
  8. Well that is what our draft picks and our trades will be all about, except maybe for an Under 17 pick who may be a big key forward.
  9. On a different note, Jack Fitzpatrick has been getting better each week and is now kicking a few goals each game. He is moving well and starting to really look much more confident in his game. He has also filled out considerably and with a good pre season, I believe we will have another big strong versatile player. Much like Martin he can play ruck or key forward and he has pace as well. With Gawn they look like our future big man department and not to forget we have a another huge player at full forward in Clark.
  10. I'm with you. I read it but I don't believe it, ( I feel like Anthony Hudson in the Swans v Cats final).
  11. You better believe it. Isn't gold the color of bananas?
  12. Easy, you squeeze it through a sieve or thread it through a needle.
  13. From what I am hearing I don't believe we are into Cloke.
  14. Robbo gave us a rap for signing Blease and for Foundation result on 360. Finally something good according to a Media person.
  15. Spoke to Rory Taggert last night. I just like this kid and have a real good feeling about him. He is tough, quick and an elite kick. Grimes agreed that he could be a really good player. Grimes is also a rap for Tynan. We might have grabbed a couple of good kids.
  16. Not on the night obviously with the players there. Try the Drafting and Trading Board.
  17. As you said LS, about those who moan about the "exclusivity" of the Foundation members, let me assure those moaners that it is not an exclusive club. It is open to everyone. I understand that many can't afford to become members, but there are many others who can and choose not to. That of course is their prerogative. While ambitious, the club is hoping to swell the number eventually to 1000 members. It started on the first night at 140 and has now reached 430. That of itself has involved a fair deal of work. The entry level is $5000.00 which of course is not cheap, but they have now sought younger members and offered those under 30 who can afford it, to become members and pay over 4 years, $1250.00 a year. That amount of course is still a significant amount of money. Just so everyone understands, every AFL club has these sorts of groups and fundraisers. We just seem to get publicity for everything that we do or that is done to us. In summary this group has wiped out a $5million debt, continues to supply funds and is being led by the club Board, whose members have actually donated large amounts to the club and also continue to do so as they did last night. In other words the Board members are leading by example.
  18. Just got back from the night. Two captains spoke well and promised as usual that players would give their all. As you know announced that Sam Blease had signed for 2 years. A moving tribute to Jimmy was given by Trisha Silvers, Troy Broadbridge's wife. Looks like about $750000.00 might be raised. Hopefully more. Lot of ex players there like Robbie, Ox, Neita, Dicko, Hoppy, Ingo, Riggers, Smithy, etc. Good function but not over the top. Sat with my sponsored player Jack Grimes and Rory Taggert. Rory on way back and I predict he will be a good player and he is an elite kick. Mitch Clark on the way back. Coach said there would be some changes to the list but that is the same at every club. Said we are improving in certain areas and will continue improving. Garry revved up crowd. Good vibe and everyone feeling positive.
