  1. Can see myself as one of about 100 Demon fans at the game tomorrow.
  2. The problem here with some posters is the very next pick in Gys's draft, Daniel Talia, who has gone on to be a very good CHB with the Crows. He was the player most thought we would take.
  3. And now for more important matters, I just saw a banana in the fruit bowl and I think I will have it with my cereal for breakfast.
  4. He would probably go to GWS if he left anyway.
  5. Why do you say that? Are you saying if he got a month, served in say February, he would never play again. Don't think so.
  6. No your punishment it to attend the game. I will be, it's called self flagellation.
  7. If Carlton are prepared to let him go for nearly nothing, to make salary cap room for their asault on Cloke or other players, I would look at him. He is their best player over the last month.
  8. Interesting bit of evidence from a passenger in the van Basil Jurrah arrived in with 8 mates. The vans are called "troop carriers" by the locals. The witness said that in the van were nulla nullas, machetes and other weapons. Contrast that with Basil's evidence of he came with three mates unarmed to visit a cousin. Also he had been drinking for 12 hours when the incident occurred. Contrast that again with evidence of two of the other victims who said Basil was armed with a machete, was the instigator, that Liam didn't hit them and that he acted in self defence in relation to Basil. Then this last bit of important news that a co accused will plead guilty to the serious charge that Liam has been charged with. Lastly we have only heard from the Prosecution side so far as the Defence don't run their case at Committal and to date the prosecution case is a shambles. Also the Magistrate said there was some evidence to send him to trial which is not the test. The test is " is the evidence capable of leading to a conviction" which is based on "beyond reasonable doubt". The Defence QC is entitled to feel extremely confident. Liam will not be delisted.
  9. I am not sure. As an aside, what is an AFL club B & F winner in the last two years worth as compensation?
  10. Agree on the injuries as I said it was a factor. Hope you are right on the 16th, though I would gladly cop 17th right now. Picks 2 & 3 wow. Virtual guarantee that JV would not go until second round. Pick 2 and maybe Moloney or Bate could get us both Under 17 picks from GWS. They could have Whitfield and Grundy. We could get Toumpas. Pick 13 there for trading or using. Salivating stuff.
  11. I have just patented a new product called Redleg's Banana Rice Custard. I promise to donate 25% of profits to the MFC.
  12. Kelvin Lawrence (calf) - test Jordie McKenzie (groin) - test Jai Sheahan (ankle) - test Luke Tapscott (groin) - test Josh Tynan (concussion) - test Jack Watts (ankle) - test Liam Jurrah (ankle) - 2 weeks Mark Jamar (calf) - 3 weeks Clint Bartram (knee) - season Jamie Bennell (knee) - season Mitch Clark (foot) - season Aaron Davey (foot) - season Max Gawn (knee) - season Rory Taggert (back) - indefinite Plus James Sellar who has been left out. That is our present injury list 15 players. Many have been out all year like Jurrah and Gawn etc. North have McIntosh and a boy named Tom Curran out. That will go part of the way to explaining why we are struggling. I know there are many other factors, but there is also a lack of team consistency and best players available.
  13. First things first, we must finish no higher than 16th to start the resurrection.
  14. Agree. He has been a great Demon and for his sake should go out playing in the seniors not at Casey. A position as Casey captain for a year or two would assist the younger players if Brad was amenable. Congratulations on a great AFL career whenever it ends.
  15. At 45% effectiveness, the lowest I have ever seen. We may have dodged a bullett.
  16. Agree. Even the two new sides below us have far superior midfields.
  17. This is my take on our position, we are not good enough in a number of areas, we know them and so do the Footy Department. The list is much poorer than many thought, we are not fit enough, we have a new batch of coaches with new ideas and plans that take time to adjust to, we have a weak midfield, no small forwards, lack of general pace other than a few like Nicho and Blease, poor disposal skill, weak culture and a lack of real hunger to succeed at all costs. Now what to do to fix that: first we must finish as low as possible to get the best picks and trading/drafting position, second, we must trade/deal and draft well with the minimum risk of failures, third, we delist those that are surplus and couldn't be traded, fourth, we get the players fit, fifth, we get the players absolutely familiar with the game plan, sixth, we empower our leadership group to change the culture with full support of the whole club, seventh, we get the players that are on the 2013 list to buy into the win at all costs culture, which simple means you do what you have to do to win. It all sounds pretty simple and of course it isn't, but surely that is the starting point. Last, if the FD agree with my positon on best draft picks being essential, then we needn't question team selection for the rest of the season. If the Dogs were to fall behind us on the ladder we would go back two picks, lose bargaining power to trade and deal with GWS for best Under 17's, probably lose or pay too much for Viney as Dogs would name him, whereas I believe GWS and GC won't, thereby lose another top player and maybe two top players with our later 2 picks than Dogs. In other words I see it as an absolute disaster to finish higher on the ladder. Maybe the FD agree. Things are working to that scenario with our heavy injury list so we don't need to ta-k. I can't even say the word. I believe with a good trade or two, a hard pre season, our best players being available, further development in several on our list and a a few good draft selections we can turn it around very quickly.
  18. Have spoken to him a few times and he is a strong minded man. He is big on integrity and principle and will be a leading component of our club's culture change. He is very impressive with solid experience in many areas of football and sport generally.
  19. I thought an interesting point in the article was where it stated that CJ gets several hundred thousand dollars a year from Visy and that CJ then is quoted as saying he has done a couple of talks for them. Now lets analyze that. Say $250000.00 a year for doing a talk every second year. That must be great value for money for Visy. What would the best speaker in the country charge for 2 talks, surely not $1million. Yes in 4 years he will have earned $1million for 2 talks on subjects he admitted he didn't know a great deal about. Worse than that the AFL has approved it and continues to do so. Worse still when we hinted at finding ways to retain you know who, the AFL told us they wouldn't allow it. We play under a corrupt regime.
  20. Interesting to see "Judd Inc" swing into activity with a double page spread in the Sun today, about what a great bloke CJ is. Funny how it appears the week of his tribunal foray.
  21. If Evans is elevated or at least kept as a rookie, I will be happy. Nicho has earned his spot.
