Expect to see him at Visy Park soon.

Interesting that the 2 people of the 3 pictured, who you could strongly argue were the least responsible, have left.

Fear not as post 13449 has once again lifted the standards.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW
Redleg replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
For those that don't, he kicked 11.8 that day. Suggest he would have had a few different opponents. -
if you swap those names with 5 names who could be playing in our side today, how different would we look. I am not even saying stars, just 5 guys who would have been regulars.

Now you are talking.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Redleg replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the problem with our forward line this year was twofold, the mids getting beaten and therefore not enough entries inside F50 and the fact that we basically only had one key forward for most of the year. Dawes when he got right was basically double teamed for most of the time and had little influence. We would then have Gawn, who was basically starved of opportunity as his leads or making position were often overlooked and he is not a true forward. Fitzy kicked a couple in each of his late games and if Hogan and Howe were also up forward I think Fitzy could get one out and maintain those two goals per game. He is quicker than any tall back and too tall for a medium sized defender. He could be very useful as the 3rd or 4th key forward. We then have Watts to throw forward as well, as a 3rd or 4th key forward and he only needs a few possessions to kick a couple each week. Garlett, JKH and Kent are ok small forwards and will hopefully see more ball in the F50 this year. I keep oscillating between McCartin and mid. Our need is for mids and we get one in Brayshaw, another in Billy and we probably need to use this high pick to get another quality one. Lever can play in several positions and is actually taller than McCartin and may in time assume a key position. -
it's going to be a boring draft after pick 3 until pick 40.

Don't think they are F Troop though. I reckon the boy at ff might go ok. -
Isn't it "wonderful" that no matter how many posts and pages we all write on here, the club will take who "they" want. I wouldn't have said that about the previous recruiters.

Garlett Dawes Howe Watts/Gawn/Fitzy Hogan JKH/Kent Not "A Grade" but wouldn't say that is "F Troop." -
Why, it has been done in the past. If they guarantee to draft him in PSD 1 he can train with them. That makes our pick the first live pick, a great result in days gone by, but not as valuable under the new rules. However still can be useful.

Could even be a name not mentioned, or just Jetta upgraded.

Already seen as a likely top-end pick, Lever’s professionalism towards his knee at such a young age already suggest he may have significant leadership potential in the coming seasons. His junior years suggest the same. Not many players captain their side at the Under-18 National Championship, so it stands as even more impressive that Lever did so despite being an underager in 2013. Even with his 2014 playing year ruined by the injury, Lever has been involved with the coaching at the Calder Cannons. “I did do some coaching, I helped out the midfield,” he told Morning Glory. “Obviously I’m a tall key defender and just wanted to try something different and help coach in the midfield.” At 194cm, Lever is a genuine key defender height, though he is a very good user of the ball and rebounder out of the backline, giving him some flexibility in what his role may be at AFL level. A highly-competitive player with an impressive game nous, he plays similarly to Hawthorn defender Josh Gibson, though he has an extra five centimetres on the Peter Crimmins Medal winner. Despite a devastating injury, Lever may just be one of the feel-good stories to eventuate from this draft. He may also be one of the few, if only, players to have impressed without even playing a game.

Apparently is now 194, actually taller than McCartin.

38 bye to depression and hello to royalty.

Purely on the highlights tapes on both boys, IMO Roos will take Lever. He is far more versatile, agile and can take a big grab. He can get his own ball up the ground, or down forward, whereas McCartin looked more a 1 trick pony. Lever looks a bigger version of Heppell and that is a big compliment. Lever also has the height and may fill out and then play a key position later on anyway.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Redleg replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Amen. We probably would have ceased to exist. -
Don't disagree with most of that. Gawn hasn't proved himself as a ruckman to me so far. Fitzy could still make it. I think he needs games and confidence in his position in the team.

39 Craig Smoker day.

Agree with first line. Second, they didn't and in fact refused 2 picks inside 7 and we didn't threaten to trade to the Dogs. Third, that is surprising except that they had a stated aim of getting 3 picks inside 25. Four, agree as earlier but same as first line.

What makes you think that Saints will pass on Petracca?
