Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

They also need talls to replace Boyd. They can get the best two if they deal. One is a Boyd type and the other a strong KPF. -

Running out of time so you would have to hope that Saints say we are keeping pick 1 and can't get Membrey. That would make GWS look at us for any deal which could also clean up Frost. -
42 The number worn by the great and first african american majors baseballer, Jackie Robinson. Also that of the great MFC ruckman.

Greenwood goes for 25 after a great season and GWS ask for better for Frost who was dropped the last 7 games. -

Why do people keep saying Petracca when he is gone, either to Saints or GWS. He will not get past pick 1. -
Garry Lyon just said we will take Brayshaw, which the footy world would probably know and Wright. If we actually want Lever I wonder if that was said to get GWS interested in a deal to get the Wright pick, as GWS replacement for Boyd. If Saints keep 1 GWS could easily replace Boyd with Wright and MCartin. An interesting 6 hours coming up.

Blease is gone either through a trade or delisting and he wants to be gone, absolutely how he feels. -

Add Frost to us and it is a good deal. -
Saints today saying they will keep Petracca, I mean pick 1. Then again we know footy speak is based on lies. I hope we try for slight downgrade of 3 plus 23 getting a good mid and Frost and still getting the player we want at 3. Then we still have PSD and delisted players to look at.

MELBOURNE has nixed any suggestion that it is still working on a deal involving its prized No.2 and No.3 picks at next month's NAB AFL National Draft. Demons football manager Josh Mahoney told NAB Trade Radio on Wednesday that once it became clear that stars such as Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield could not be lured to the club, the decision was made to hold on to the picks. "It's not likely to happen," Mahoney said. "There are only a small number of players you would use them for. "We went hard early, but once we were told 'no' then we decided to use the opportunity to bring in some high-end young talent into the club. "There will be some good free agents this time next year and we will go hard at those," he said. This was on the AFL site. If we have now decided to get some high end talent, then the only deal we may be interested in, is one that gets us a good mid and costs 3 and 23 but, with a pick back that could guarantee the player we want to take at 3. It seems that GWS is the most likely trade partner again in that sort of deal. If for example we wanted Lever at 3 and you could get say Greene and Frost for 3 and 23 with 4 back and a guarantee to leave Lever, that would get us a good player. The guarantee wouldn't be hard to get, as I think GWS want a tall to replace Boyd meaning McCartin and Wright are the likely target. They would also have 23 to use which is just outside first round. You could not otherwise get Greene and Frost is done as well. You end up with Brayshaw, Greene, Lever and Frost for 2,3 and 23. That would be a great outcome. Then you could go after someone like Merrett for example in the PSD, if you could convince Lions to let him go to PSD for salary cap relief, on the agreement we honour his contract and maybe give him a bit more as a sweetener. -

It would be simpler on your scenario to do 3 and 23 for Greene and 4, guaranteeing both Brayshaw and Lever, as GWS would want Petracca and then a Boyd replacement, McCartin or Wright. -
With Griffen and Petracca added, is it possible a $7m player might not make the side?

I think were seeking symmetry this trade period. 2 and 3 and 23. -

Forget Petracca, he is gone.

You missed my point.GWS want pick 1. They will pay over the odds to get it. If we had pick 1 we would also trade it for more picks. -

We are still trying to do the Frost deal, probably the most insignificant of the GWS players to leave. Why am I not filled with optimism. I hope Membrey is not traded.
