A few of us said 3 weeks ago he should be in, together with Billy and some more pacey crumbers in Spargo or Garlett. IMO we win the Port and Saints games with this side. The Coaches must take responsibility for poorly selected sides, that have cost us a couple of games.
-
First thing Pert must do is get us out of this horrible game. If you have any chance of having a good year this game destroys it .
-
Supporting this club is pure torture.
-
Obviously haven't got their 6 goals from frees and 50's like last week. Also the Port forwards and mids are putting on pressure, unlike us.

Yes the cake is banana cake.

Agree. It is just some of the glaring ones stay with you, when you realize that a few changed decisions could have seen us with Martin, Wines and Curnow recently to name just three. How different would our team be then? But yes, every team can look back and say the same. As you say, win some/lose some.

Actually I forgot about the commentators. They are awful. The in house jokes and toeing the party line is just palpable. Bruce who I like as a person, can drive you to distraction with his sickly sweet fawning and love for certain players. Dwayne who calls every simple thing done on the field as a miraculous event. A standard goal is remarkable, a nice mark is unbelievable etc etc. The game has become a scrum and I don't like rugby. I can understand why TV ratings are dropping for footy, it is because it is not the game it was.

I apologize in advance for mentioning this, but while I still think Weid will make it, it appears we have let a future champion in Curnow, who we were considering at the time, go, by selecting Weid. While Weid is still struggling to cement a place in the side, Curnow has better stats than Jono Brown at the same age and is being hailed as a future champion. Not sure how many champions we have and he was there for the taking. Jesse, Tom and Charlie, a seriously good key forward trio. Yes I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but just saying and I did apologize at the outset.

And there you have one of the major reasons why so many people don't love their footy as much as they used to and so many former players refuse to watch the game anymore. I now find myself watching our games and barely a few minutes of a couple of other games each week.

Big game on this weekend, Casey v Roos.

This can add to your distress. Against Port we had twice as many F50's than Port did. We did not receive 1 single free kick in our F50 for the whole game. That means that not 1 single infringement by Port was deemed to have happened by the Umpires. That is just unbelievable when we have double the F50's of an opponent. To make matters worse, a doubtful mark and goal was paid to Wingard and a couple of 50's and goals were handed to Port. None were given to us and a goal was taken off Melksham for a man on man block, as called by the umpire, which doesn't exist and then a mark was taken off Brayshaw 20 out, directly in front, in the last 5 minutes of the game.

12 goals to 1 against us, from frees and 50's, in the last two games we lost, by 10 and 2 points .

You don't believe he has off field issues? You might need to start believing. While he could be picked on previous performances, it wouldn't be on current form.
-
I would imagine he has some interest in Weid playing well.

Won Tons are not Dim Sims.
-
Yes could have been.
-
The ones from South Melbourne Market I hope. Australia's leading Dim Sim.
-
Maybe his best is behind him, or like Cyril he has off field issues.
-
I remember speaking to him some years ago at a function or AGM or something at the G. Nice bloke. Good tough footballer.
-
Might be good at setting field placements. Also could be good at altering the footy, if the other side get away from us. Sorry I know you deserve better. Seriously, only positive might be some leadership ability that he has developed in the role.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Redleg replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Portable goal posts at one end for a while would solve it. I have two sets in my garage. -
They set themselves for beating us. They had something to prove. They found our weakness and exploited it perfectly as a couple of other teams have also done. Maybe their other opponents planned for them. We clearly didn't.

I am with you. There is more to it than player blame.
