  1. I think I read he is late 40's, so a fair way from the pension. From an article written 2 months ago on the AFL site. " Taylor played senior football for St Paul's in Melbourne's Southern league, then joined his coach Mark Williams on VFL club Sandringham's match committee for the first of its three straight flags in 2004. But the 47-year-old earned his living running an air-conditioning business before telling Luke of his interest in recruiting. PS. Should be able to go on for a year or two. He has presided over our best list rebuild ever. We have a list capable of going all the way, with luck on the injury front.
  2. Who was the best player for Box Hill in the GF? IMO if Campbell was playing for us we would have had a better chance of winning. Drunkn can tell us who the rucks are for Casey this year, but I hope to hell we don't kill Bradtke.
  3. What about voting for a Government who will get our new training complex over the line? Pity there isn't one.
  4. You need to read my answer to a post, before assuming my intent. Below is the post and my answer. I merely named a player who was available, of a certain type of player, at our picks, in response to a poster who wanted that type of player. Personally as it turns out, I would have liked to see more mix in our selections and felt we needed another key forward/ruck type and Bailey Williams was of that type. I have also posted many times that I have faith in JT and admire his work, but that doesn't stop wish lists and opinions and clearly I accept mine are only mine and not necessarily JT's. Here is what I said in response to what was posted: " Bailey Williams at 198 cms and 95 kgs was available at a few of our picks. PS. Drafting for needs by the way doesn't mean you get a crap list. I would trust JT to draft a type of player we need because of his skill and talent at the job. Are you telling me that we will always pick best available over need? So if we lose Preuss and Max we won't look for a ruck, come on. JT actually said we "need" more mids and defenders and he selected them. Personally I think we are now a bit top heavy on mids and defenders and light on one experienced ruck reserve and another developing key forward. Do you disagree?
  5. Bailey Williams at 198 cms and 95 kgs was available at a few of our picks.
  6. While I am not stupid enough to challenge JT, just on the look of him, I agree, I also would have liked to get Williams.
  7. But luckily I was the only person who heard you.
  8. Salary cap relief.
  9. Like others we have rookie spots. However, sounding like something is NQR.
  10. We seem to have loaded up on mids and defenders with our trading and draft. I still think we will rookie an experienced ruck. To me we are still light on for key forwards and I think we might try to make Petty one. Petty like May, played forward as a junior.
  11. 2 at pick 53, with the mother of one sleeping with the father of the other.
  12. Wonder why we didn't rookie him, which we could have done as no one bid for him? The draft has become quite confusing, with all of the new categories and live trading of picks.
  13. If no one bids we can take him as a rookie. Sounds like the other clubs don’t rate him.
  14. Yes saw “Widows “. Nothing special. Linda La Plante book which probably explains it.
  15. The first two we take today.
  16. People are talking about Jason Taylor saying we will be looking at mids. Where did he say that, I would like to read the article?
  17. Agree Nasher. He is still a young man. Sometimes players don't click early, or at their first club. It could be injuries, or similar players who take his position, or not understanding the fitness requirements, or the Coach not rating them or a host of other reasons. He has his chance now and we will see if he is good enough. He certainly had a great year with Casey. I will be interested to see if we look at his team mate JL, perhaps in the roookie draft.
  18. Well it's not quite in their backyard. How far away is the closest member of that group to Yarra Park? The project is designed to improve where the oval will go with nice trees and a usable ground for everyone, together with a building over a railway line. I will bet no one lives within a hundred yards of the oval and would not be able to see the building from their property. Most likely means there will be more people watching them not pick up their dog droppings and that is why they are against it. How lucky are they to live not too far from Yarra Park and the gardens opposite the Hilton?
  19. Who does he follow? Should ban them all from the MCG.
  20. Interesting photo. In the Casey GF, one tried his guts out all game and the other had a magnificent one possession after quarter time and looked like he couldn't give a rat's. If not for the pathetic game by the Casey captain, he would have been WOG, worst on the ground. Sad fall from grace. Looks to have one year left to try and keep his AFL career.
  21. Love the Amsterdam gardens.
