  1. I just can't see them letting him go. He is one of their best players, ( when fit ) and one of the most popular among their fans. Has Sier got tattoos?
  2. While we got to finals last year, with a fitter list and playing chaos footy, the new rules changed things and we were exposed. IMO, as the rules now stand, 6-6-6, with no outside pace or small goal kicking forwards, we will improve with a fitter list, but cannot improve to win enough games to make finals. That is why we are chasing the likes of Langdon and others to fix these deficiencies on the list. Also, again IMO, the game style of last year will not succeed now and needs tinkering with, not wholesale changes. That could be why we are changing Assistant Coaches, who can bring in a slightly different approach to the way we play. So IMO the 3 things needed to succeed for us are: . A strong pre season, with a good injury run during the season. . A modified game plan, not totally reliant on contested possession, but incorporating improved, uncontested possession. . Some better players with pace and skill and a few small, goal kicking, pressure forwards. A softer draw will also help if we get the above in place.
  3. I have posted this before, but my son saw Cook training with us pre season and came home and said to me that he would never play for us in the Seniors. I laughed at him as he was an AA CHF . I stopped laughing very quickly. The point of that was, how can full time recruiters get it so wrong, when an amateur can see that he wasn’t up to it in one training session. Worst of all he was our first pick .
  4. Funny film ?.
  5. I know you can stuff up picks, but surely a club should get a top 5 pick right. Imagine if we drafted a Bontempelli type at that pick how much better we would be.
  6. So you agree with me.
  7. Surely you are joking. I have seen plenty. Dad’s as coach of their son’s sport’s team, among the worst examples.
  8. Now Bin, we picked Toumpas, enough said.
  9. I don’t care that Jack is not at the finals. Why is it a bad look? I would suspect most non finals players are on their break, as mandated by the AFL. I would be pretty sure most Bombers players will be on their break, as soon as exit interviews are completed early this week just like the loser of Giants v Dogs. Most players need their break, unlike supporters.
  10. You need to take a deep breath. He is on holiday and doesn't look a clown at all. Gee, if he had a beer in his hand, you would probably accuse him of being a rolling drunk. Players have lives and people need to understand that. They are not robots.
  11. The interesting part of that will be, if he stays in footy, or has got an opportunity in another field.I am guessing the latter.
  12. And Richo has a reputation of getting on with players and being good at player development.
  13. I wonder how players and their managers see the changes and whether it puts them off or encourages them to stay/join us.
  14. Yet where he could have used his conflict of interest, re Ollie Wines, his son's mate, we didn't and totally wasted pick 4. A disaster that still costs us.
  15. Well if we maintain our current ladder position, we are probably a big chance to get him.
  16. Maybe not only the club needs to improve its culture, some supporters could do with culture improvement as well.
  17. If true, wonder if it could fit in with a DL's post of Tomlinson to us, compo pick end of first round to GWS and then that compo pick plus picks 12 and 14 from GWS for our pick 3. King appears to be out of the equation from GC for next year. If we lose pick 2, then 3 might be used in a deal.
  18. When I was team manager of the Dees, I was warned not to loiter in the race at Vic Park, as I would be covered with cups of urine, if not just copping a spit or two. Lovely people at that ground.
  19. Most likely true. I recall the Bombers toilet on the outer was often flooded and you went against the back wall. That was real footy back then, both on and off the field.

Thanks Ethan. Given that definition, we laid very few tackles this year. We are however, very good at the one armed, brushed off, attempted tackle.
  21. I am a real fan of Jordon. He could be a very good one.

Thanks Ethan I didn't know that. Is there a stat for effective tackles? What is the basis of a stat for a tackle, do you just have to touch them or bring them down?

Most of ANB's tackles are when he is the third player in, after one of his team mates has the opponent on the grass. His actual tackles, one on one, are usually ineffective.

Be my guest, give him a call.

    Doubt he would be interested.
