Will be surprised if he doesn't sign a new deal with us before the end of the season, well south of his original ambit figure.

Wish the boy well for the future, but with his manager, $2m won't be left on the table. There might be a saving to the Dogs and more cap space in 20/21 and a mid year draft pick, but don't always believe what you read. He will get most of that contracted $7m is my belief. If properly invested, he will have an income for life, even if he never works again.

Trying to make his dad happy.

Is having 24 hours straight, goal kicking practice.

Given his recent form I don't think this will be his last season.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Redleg replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not really. The monkeys are able to pass their peanuts to each other without dropping them, or landing them in the lion's enclosure, unlike our inability to handle a footy. -
182 cms. He can kick so not interested.

I did.

Disagree to a degree. I would rest plenty of our better players and give others a go, as this is a short week and a pretty hard task. I would freshen up Gawn, Oliver, Viney, Tom Mc, Frost etc and play Spargo, ANB, Smith, Preuss, Sparrow, Baker etc. Then we could load up and start our comeback against the Giants in 9 days at the G, where they play poorly. We would be fresh and ready to go against a top Team who don't like the G. To me there would be more chance of winning that game, than the Eagles after a short week and 2 interstate trips in a row.

Thanks Raymond.

Me too. If we can develop the young blokes we drafted this year, I'd be happy with that too. If we can draft and trade in some more skill and pace, I'd be happy with that too. If we can reduce our injury list and get the blokes we need back on the park, I'd be happy with that too. If we can stop fumbling and learn to pass to our forwards, not their opponents, I'd be happy with that too. You can see it doesn't take much to make me happy.

You are welcome .

David King said something we should look at. He said if we want to win, stop kicking it to the other side. That simply put is what we need to do. Problem is we can't, because most of the players are poorly skilled and under pressure or even without it, our poor disposal just leads to turnovers and ultimately easy goals, as we struggle to run back the other way. If we did that yesterday we would have won by a minimum of 5 goals.

Disagree. He went for goal but miskicked it and it tumbled in the air. He was 40 out and a point would win it. He went for goal.
-
Best compliment I can find is shameful footy.

Lets go draft some more hard no skill players. Lewis finished, enough of the one handed tackles and turnovers. Garlett shat himself 3 times going for a mark. Magnificent. Petracca is the worst kick for goal in AFL history and is just a player who destroys the efforts of his team mates. Keilty, sorry Drunk’n, but he is having a shocker. Not sure why Preuss wasn’t played. Preuss had 49 hit outs and 2 goals for Casey today. World record entries in F50 for least return. They are the most poorly skilled side in the AFL and plenty of us have said it for a few years now and to me nothing has been done about it. Even if we fluke a win today what I said stands. It is actually embarrassing watching us play. How can you as an AFL player not be able to kick, mark and handball. It defies logic.

Shaun Smith not happy with Joel's medical treatment.
Redleg replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Did Misson, the Doctor or the Coach send Joel back onto the ground? That is the question and the issue. If the Doctor said don’t and he was overruled, then it is that person we should be discussing. -
Shaun Smith not happy with Joel's medical treatment.
Redleg replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
That should put it to rest and make everyone understand why his father, an ex afl player btw, is upset. -
Yes.

Shaun Smith not happy with Joel's medical treatment.
Redleg replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
What else could Joel say publicly. He is listed as 6-8 weeks and if it is 8, that is 70% of the season he will have missed. If it is the club's fault, then you can understand why his father is furious, as would Joel be, privately, you would imagine. -
Didn't say it was a bad win, I said it was awful footy.

I thought injured players were not allowed to drink as it can affect their recovery and it was a club rule. Given his start to his MFC career it was dumb.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Redleg replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree he was terrible. I just re watched the last play of the game, where Frost spoiled a Wingard mark 20 out, then tapped the ball on and then threw himself onto the ball, scooped it up and hand balled it to Lewis, who promptly fumbled it and dropped it and if not for Perracca grabbing it could have lost us the game. This on top of his multiple turnovers throughout the game. Lewis was diabolical and if his name was Bill Smith he would not get another game with us. He was a great player but not anymore. -
To answer the question part, I still know we lack skill and pace. Yes skill can help lack of pace with hitting targets. The first half against the Hawks, was some of the worst footy from both sides, I have seen in years. It was garbage.

Was that a statement or a question?
