Our National recruiting and talent spotters must have had an interesting year and exciting draft night, in that we drafted 2 boys from Sandringham and 1 from Oakleigh. Get rid of the NGA or give us a better zone or whatever before more top end talent destroys the reason for the draft and puts us further behind.

    Hopefully.

No he wouldn’t. Described as an exceptional pick by King, Ablett and Sheahan.

Are you suggesting the Cats took a player they didn’t want or know about until a phantom draft or a leak. WOW! You don’t think much of one of the best recruiters of the last 20 years.

Dumb Crows in handing Dogs all the publicity. Should have picked the kid they wanted and let Roos nominate him and then he would be 2 not 1.

Not a worry, I am told it will all be sorted out by the end of his contract in 2025.

Looking at that list, we are one of only a few clubs that don’t have a player advantage.
  9. Interesting draft year for me, knowing less about the players than in any other year I can remember. I can sit back and be happy with whoever we get.
  10. Not exactly. Watch players like Libba and Hunter, they immediately look to give it off, but wide, sideways or backwards, to the free man. The free man becomes the runner and looks quick, because he has a few metres on his opponent, who has left him for the contest, instead of manning up. When we get the ball inside, we either try to break tackles (Viney) or handball it like a hot potato, to players manned up, a metre away (Oliver). That is the difference, that makes our mids less effective than they should be and makes us look slower than we are.

    What a joke!

I can understand that and hope he is AFL standard and he plays with us.

But that is the point, he could be worse. Have you seen him play? Why are you saying he is a LOCK for us. If he is good, fair enough, but you don't draft players who aren't AFL standard, just because their fathers were good players. If that was the case, we would have 3 of Lyon's sons on the list for starters.

What if he isn't AFL standard, do we still LOCK him in?
  15. I think the best footy commentator is the one with laryngitis at the time. To be fair though, it is just am opinion and we all know they are just like bums ( the polite word ), everybody has one.
  16. Can you put the photo up. It is refusing to open.

A lot of "ifs" in that, but possible.
  18. Wasn’t Yze involved in player development at Hawks?
  19. Gotta love a short retirement. Wonder if Lynden Dunn could reappear at the Hawks.

I smell something slightly different here. I think they may have agreed to $300k per year, but as I posted earlier on before the trade, the real figure on the last 3 years could be well over $1m a year and maybe the Dogs weren’t aware of that. If they weren’t, they could suddenly be facing $700k-$900k a year for the last 3 years, even with the Pies contribution. Something has clearly gone wrong with the deal, or it has been improperly executed and/or misunderstood by a party or parties. It is great entertainment though for the viewers.

Depends which club is their favourite.

Simple solution. In law, where parties are not " ad Idem" or of" one mind", in other words where the terms of a contract are uncertain, it can where possible be set aside. Therefore the Trade is declared void and Treloar returns to the Pies. That threat, would bring a solution to the problem. Player Agents and the Players Association must be furious with the Pies.
  23. I am here already and have been sitting here talking to myself, with no one listening.
  24. Recently I might have as well, as lately I wouldn't.
  25. Don’t see him running for us. We already have a runner, who no one else wanted in trade week.
