  1. Gawn, May, Petracca, Oliver, Langdon, Brayshaw, Lever and Salem are probably our best and the 3 newbies all look good.
  2. Can't argue on the second bit but maybe a small argument on the first point.
  3. When you are locked down forever and going insane you will try anything.
  4. Of course not that it matters, but Port last played a week ago at home, not in Alice Springs, 5 days ago, flying home at 3.00 am and they are at a one day advantage of recovery on their opponent who played 6 days ago. Oh and BTW they are better than us, quicker than us and also better coached, not that that should matter either.
  5. I think it was Lever who short passed a ball to someone and kicked it high allowing a player to run from a distance behind him and jump up to out mark him. It was a simple basic pass. It was not only poor skill but just dumb. Worst part of it is that is a typical part of our game, we are incapable of passing the ball to retain possession. We don't seem to try and remedy it in any way. It goes on year after year. Don't get me started on the handballs to the ankle or to a player with a man right next to him.
  6. I don't like making excuses, but from a personal experience in Cairns, I was there last summer and dropped off a rental car and then walked back to meet my wife.I walked about a kilometre along the main street, so there was intermittent shade and when I got back I felt absolutely sick. I felt like I had run a marathon. I was just drinking cold water and resting. Yes I am not as fit as the footballers and much older, but I do regularly walk for an hour or longer and I have never had this reaction. The humidity in Cairns is a killer. After that day of travel with an early start probably 5.00 am, playing on a windy ground they have probably never seen before, against a side that has had 2 days to acclimatize and able to get up at a normal time in routine, train on the ground and get used to the conditions, all off a short turnaround from the previous game and having got to bed at 5.00 am a few days earlier from the Alice Springs game, well that is simply unfair. We seem to have played at more grounds, with more short breaks and travel than most other teams and that has to affect the players.
  7. When Maynard barreled him from behind and sent him flying to the ground, with umpire 6 a couple of metres away, I thought only a Pies player could avoid that free. I also thought back to the game a couple of rounds ago, when we had the mark on the siren, 10 metres out and AVB just gently pushed a player lying on the ground in the back and the mark was reversed. Only could happen to us. Robinson had every right to go off at that umpire. He is the Perth umpire who supports WCE. In an ordinary season he would be dropped for that decision. It was as blatant as it could be. This year he will probably get the GF and especially if the Eagles are in it.
  8. I am sure he played some good footy for Casey off the back flank and wing. Agree with you that he might be a player we could use on the outside and if they are trying to change his game style, I hope it is to broaden his range and does not set him back.
  9. Actually on reflection you could be right. If it’s his quad then someone may have got it wrong letting him play.
  10. Did quad a week ago, but bandage was on his hammy late in game, so seems like a different injury.
  11. I am known for being understated.
  12. Tbh I hope it is Port v Lions as I am sick of Tigers, Cats, Pies and WC . I could live with GWS if as looking likely we are not a finalist.
  13. Dazz you posted earlier about Jordon. I have been a fan since we got him and have seen him improve since then. I look forward to him getting a chance. You know a bit more about him, how do you see him. We clearly need to get speed and good ball use into this side. It is our major problem. Poor quality tackling is another issue that needs addressing.
  14. We have all seen that, but the Coach does nothing to change it. Most of our faults just continue on without change. I am not a Goodwin fan anymore. Good Coaches adapt, he doesn’t.
  15. We slowed the side down tonight with our selections and they played young kids with pace, skill and a want to win. Mentally weak, no skill, no desperation, no care for team mates and poorly selected and coached. All in all a great night.
  16. Poor supporters following this crap.
  17. He has lost me now completely. Didn’t come to play, whose fault. Poor selection again, whose fault. Bennell can’t get in this side because we are just so good. No skill, no pace, no heart. Pathetic.
  18. Swans killing the witches hats. Joke of a club.
  19. No worries we are only playing for Finals and not switched on and no effort. Wonderful.
  20. No crumbers forward and it could cost us.
  21. I think I have had that macha and it is very ordinary.
  22. Disagree. Cornes was speaking to a Saints supporter on the phone, who was at the game and sitting in the forward pocket, side on to the goal line and she said it was touched. Not only that, but when Cornes saw it on TV, he was sitting in his lounge room,, side on to the goal line, so he had a great view. Lastly the goal umpire was also too close to the ball and the goal line and was distracted by the girl speaking to Cornes, who yelled out it was touched. I think I have too much time on my hands, writing this rubbish, but it fits in well with some of the media comments on the issue.
  23. This from whatwhatsaywhat above "Jeff White's son Kalani, 11, is another the club is keeping an eye on while he plays his footy for Surfers Paradise in Queensland. White also has twin sons named Kai and Tahj, still only seven years old".
  24. Hopefully a few of those end up AFL standard and playing with the Dees.
