Nasher of course it is relevant to the case if he lets go of Foley before Foley hits the ground, as one is a fairly standard tackle and the other then becomes more of a driving into the ground tackle. Clearly they are different tackles. It is also not self evident that if the player could have softened the blow he would have, as there are many reasons for and factors that cause actions and reactions. Anyway it is bringing the lawyer out in me and enough of that. I actually feel sorry for both players.

I was dealing with the principal of the issue. However, you are probably correct, in that he could get a week and not really suffer any game loss. He would however have been found guilty of an offence and been suspended and that might really matter to Kade.
  3. Yes but one was a lean on the neck/jaw for a second or two, the other was a choking, around the time of a bloke being killed in the USA, by on the ground choking.

Well we can disagree, but Trengove slung Dangerfield and that is different. Also, just to highlight some of the inconsistencies, the Tribunal was told that Dangerfield was injured and wouldn’t play the next game. He in fact did and was BOG. So poor Jack got a very heavy penalty for a new rule infringement, based on incorrect evidence. 4 weeks for that sling was an absolute joke. ANB will agree, after his suspension was completely out of kilter with his offence as well. Anyway we will see what happens.

No worries, but on what basis should he be suspended ? Which rule has he infringed?
  6. Viney’s continued for far too long.

Forget that Chandler is a Demon and look at the tackle. He brings down Foley at full pace and as shown from the behind vision left side, lets go of him before they hit the ground. It’s not a bump, or a sling and is one action at full pace, where he released the player before ground contact. On that basis he has done everything reasonably expected of a player. According to Simpson, Foley is fine and I am unsure as to whether he was concussed. There is absolutely no basis for a suspension or fine on that tackle and I would say that about any player. That said, the MRO has proven itself to be inconsistent and hypocritical in dealing with incidents.and nothing would surprise me. Given Chandler is not a star player he will be treated differently and harsher than if he was one. If suspended we should appeal.
  8. The way he bounced up after that hit and was in a contest soon after, WOW, just WOW.
  9. Matthew Pavlich agreed, saying it was a perfect tackle.
  10. Agree Jack. It was just pathetic.
  11. Have not seen Mac play any footy this year but I have seen JVR and he will be playing a lot of AFL footy for us. Very happy he is a Demon.

Daw just dominated the ruck today.
  13. Daw-WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Agree on the "he is going to be a player bit". He is really developing beautifully. That mark earlier was great and he is a good kick and can hurt the opposition when he attacks the ball. Another pre season and he could be best 22.

It could be as simple as he moved and didn't get notice of a suspension due to points accumulated and also didn't get rego renewal. I note he also was coming off a very heavy mental health episode, so not totally unexplainable, possibly. Still all that being said, drivers need to be licenced and cars registered before driving. Possibly looking at a fine and further period of suspension.
  16. Channel channel 7 saying Casey on guide but showing Box Hill.

Majak Daw has been charged with driving offences. Driving an unregistered car and driving when licence suspended. Demons player Majak Daw slapped with driving charges

I posted the same earlier and have my doubts on his contested ability. I see him picking and choosing whether to contest. Surely the money he will want will be difficult for us with our current needs.
  19. And there you have it.
  20. You would think if that tweet is correct then he is staying. When we were chasing Cerra, a swap of Brayshaw for him would have seen Cerra a demon. We would surely have at that time asked Gus if he was thinking of such a move, as to have not done so would have been derelict list management. I think Gus has made it clear where he wants to play out his AFL career and we therefore gave up on Cerra as we had nothing else of interest to Freo that we would deal on. I am very confident we will soon see new Demon contracts for Gus and Luke announced.
  21. According to the strict way they have instituted this rule, they were both there yesterday and that is exactly why it is a ridiculous rule. Not one former player or media person agrees with the rule. It is also being inconsistently umpired. Umpire 13 Gavine will pay it for a grin or glance, others ignore comments and arms out. The rule is a blight on the game and it is best to leave it to umpires to deal with abuse or over the top dissent. It was working pretty well up to this year. The problem we have is that the AFL doesn’t like to admit mistakes.
