  1. According to the strict way they have instituted this rule, they were both there yesterday and that is exactly why it is a ridiculous rule. Not one former player or media person agrees with the rule. It is also being inconsistently umpired. Umpire 13 Gavine will pay it for a grin or glance, others ignore comments and arms out. The rule is a blight on the game and it is best to leave it to umpires to deal with abuse or over the top dissent. It was working pretty well up to this year. The problem we have is that the AFL doesn’t like to admit mistakes.

Who is this Khamis? When did Dogs get him?

As long as they don't blame the frogs.

    Women let us down.

Dees and Casey undefeated at this point and I think the women's team as well.
  6. Hope he looks after his body and we can get another 4-5 years out of him. IMO Oliver and May are our two most important players.
  7. Agree a brilliant trade in. May came courtesy of Jesse leaving. We got Jesse from the compo pick we got for that number one pick bloke we had for an instant, who left no mark on the MFC and whose name I have forgotten and actually erased from my mind. As to the competitors we drafted, that was a non negotiable from guys like Brendan McCartney, whose mantra was that the game is won at the contest. Also agree that they are outstanding individuals and even more of course like Gus, Sparrow, Rivers, Bowey and others can be added to that group of fierce competitors.
  8. Agree. Calf injuries can be career killers for older players. Might see a retirement call if it lingers. Not the worst thing to play your last game in a winning GF. Pretty good memory.
  9. Isn't ANB in protocol until friday? If so he may miss again not having trained during the week. Hard to drop Bedford and you would think they would want to play Dunstan against his old side. Interesting!

Wasn't that the famous Doctor that Goody and the FD weren't happy with?

And I am unbeaten in Solitaire.

Dees and Casey unbeaten so far.
  13. Agree with every point. Oliver applies body pressure at every stoppage and I don’t think that helps him with the umpires. IMO he should leave the contact alone and just move forward to the ball, making it easier to spot holding infringements against him. Than again who am I to tell Oliver how to play footy. PS: He has been my favourite Demon since he was drafted.

I must say that I find it strange that people go to a game and don't cheer their team, but just continually knock players from the other side. How is that a good day at the footy?

Agee Bitter, but nevertheless I was feeling uncomfortable. Maybe it had something to do with being surrounded by drunken Hawks fans.

I “hate” Putin, that is hate, not rating footballers is not “hate”. Anyone who says they hate footballers is not thinking properly.

A 4.30pm start and a third of the team out. This will be an interesting game.

I think " hate" is too strong a word.

    Those are ridiculous odds.
  20. So atm more than a third of the flag team out. Wow, a win tomorrow would be special.

RIP Ray Manley. Former football manager of the Dees has passed away. A really good Demon and a nice guy. Sincere condolences to family and friends.
  22. Yes that should be discouraged. I agree it is a dangerous practice. PS. Excuse the levity, but we have enough heads up butts in the AFL already.
  23. Taj went off injured late in the game with a head knock and it wasn't his best game.
  24. Yes it's important, but these days the free is usually paid against the player doing what Dunkley did. This is done to protect against the serious risk of major leg damage to the player running in.
  25. And flying Shane and Deanne and Taj's siblings, over to watch Taj's first game with us will complete the healing.
