Shiraz de Wine Cask 2023 is a nice drop. Will bring a smile to the dial, if the Giants can pull off a great win,
  3. I still recall the 2 disgraceful frees he got on May, which turned the final last year and started their comeback.

That’s a big part of it. Bringing in players on huge salaries, can stuff your club both in list capabilities and putting off team mates. They have said and it is probably true, that he will get a fortune if he leaves. I don’t want to pay a fortune, when we have developing players who will need more and there are good key forwards to draft. With our good picks, we could get one or two of them. I also don’t like the “all the eggs in one basket” situation either. If he does a knee again, it could be all over and we are stuck with a long, huge contract. Pennant St Dee has already mentioned a top young key forward in the next draft and I would rather use a high pick to draft and develop one. Alternatively we can trade for another depth forward like Schache, at low cost for a few years, if needed.
  5. 27 and 28 games, averaging 4 games a year. Has been unlucky with injuries and can’t seem to ever get a clear run at it.

With Cameron off the ground, against Nankervis, the Pies still won most of the clearances.

Didn’t Ferguson’s players play for him?

Always the first and then the second when they can get away with it. If the kicker takes a step sideways, they start moving backwards, beating the umpires play on call, who let it go, as the kicker is off and running. Just a little tactic they use, but it is the wave run that is winning them games and a fierce desire to win every contested ground ball.

Pies also go back off the mark, to get closer to where the ball is going, to help team mates and are being allowed to do it. That adds a player to a later contest.

Interesting to read that several ex Hawk Premiership players that he coached, are not friendly with Clarkson. He has apparently burnt đŸ”„ a lot of his players.

You get the ball first and keep possession until scoring. They run in waves, so you nearly need to man up and commit to running all game. If you stand and watch you lose. You need to also physically pressure Nick Daicos.

Do you think they would do better with Dusty, Broad, Short and Hopper?

I posted on here when Bolton was playing reserves at the beginning of his AFL career that I would love him at the Dees. I copped a fair bit on DL at the time.

    Me too.

TBH if it’s correct that we are after him and that he is going to get a fortune, I would keep well away. We have JVR and Jefferson and possibly Petty if needed and when Max is back, a ruck going forward. Also we have good draft picks and I would rather another good kid to complement the two we have.
  16. Redleg replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
If that is the side, then Tom has to be the sub, as if Grundy goes down, are we really going to throw a first gamer key forward into the ruck? Why the silly naming of Chandler on the hbf, when everyone knows it’s not happening? Not sure why clubs do this. Last, our forward line has gotten smaller with Max and Tom out and JVR only in.

That’s what happens when you turn them into media personalities on tv/radio, they have to create controversial content, to remain relevant and retain/validate their position. Fo we see or hear any footy program these days, without their own “ news breaker “.

Also Brayshaw was injured and another I now forget too. Agree though, fully fit and with TMac I believe we could have won it.

It's like that song this weekend; What a knee, what a knee, what a might good knee.
  25. Applying my MFCSS I wonder how long it will take the AFL to change the F/S rule to stop us getting Brown, Yze and White and then to change it back again.
