  1. It’s a strain and he will be back. Just doesn’t look an ACL. I should know I am a Lawyer and I am watching on TV. Seriously fingers crossed it’s just a few weeks. We are really missing Kossie. Ball handling is as bad as I’ve seen. Get that right and we are in it.
  2. Maybe if the umpires do their job it won’t hurt either. 10 frees to 2 since we got the first few in the first 5 minutes.
  3. I haven’t given up this game.
  4. That’s probably it actually.

Can’t understand why May flew up there. Surely it would be better for him to have stayed in Melbourne if there was doubt. Can’t see how being stuck in a plane for 5 hours return is beneficial.

I was hoping for a draw tonight, as it is painful to see Blues or Cats win.
  7. Then why fly May up there?

Funny watching a game where you can’t stand either team winning.
  9. Exactly.
  10. He will play anyway.
  11. I suppose Schache and JVR will be very interested in the outcome.

If I remember correctly he was pushed from behind which got Viney off.

We agree again, though the Lawyer in me is annoyed.

They need a tag to sell it. It’s like Uncle Bitter’s wine casks being labelled “aged” or “premium “.

It's great when there is nothing happening and we can all just relax.

And there you have it. Exactly. What makes it go from low, past medium, to high? That is all we are asking. Was the bump too hard, fast, high, amount of body on body, without warning or not enough warning, inability to avoid, what type of injury was likely, etc, etc, etc, while ignoring actual facts, like, the victim got straight up, wasn’t attended by doctors or trainers, didn’t go off, didn’t rub any area in pain, didn’t sustain any impact injury, didn’t argue with aggressor, played very well after the incident getting 27 possessions for the game, etc, etc, etc. In other words what factors led to an increased grading by 2 levels to the highest possible, given the above factors. Plainly put, explain the decision, so next time that the same gets less, we will have some idea why.

Well if that’s what the rule is, I change my view. So if I understand correctly now, it’s one guy’s opinion of what level of danger was in the action. That’s a wonderful rule, that will see a lot of consistency in decisions.

Yes it was dumb, but you don’t get weeks for being dumb, you get weeks for actual rule breaches. This is a terrible adjudication of the rules. It’s simply not high impact.

Rubbish. How can no damage be high impact? What then is concussion/broken jaw, WW3? I would challenge high impact only and take one week. TBH I am sick of us being made examples of without any argument from us. One week was fair. If he caused injury of course he deserved more, but he didn’t and no damage can’t in any way be high impact. How can you have high impact on high contact ( the head ) with absolutely no damage and not even medical attention or a test of any kind. Ridiculous. Too many on here have reacted to the opticals and yes it wasn’t a great look, but it still must be dealt with properly not just made up.

Would you rather get a hard bump with no damage or be knocked out? APPEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say high impact when absolutely no damage is disgraceful. Sending a message and giving him a week would have been fair imo. I think Kossie would be angry with us if we didn’t back him.

That’s fair, you get more for a bad look that doesn’t cause damage, than actual damage. The first point of contact with Smith is the shoulder and then Smith’s head whiplashes back, but without any damage, or even medical attention.

You mean Liam Ryan. I agree with Jaded No More, anything worse than a week and we appeal and show Cripps and Ryan knockouts, which are according to the Tribunal, absolutely fine. Smith jumped straight up and was not attended by trainers and got 27 possies. That is very relevant.

I think that’s right, he gets a week for the look. Player ok and played well. Cripps sent Ah-Chee into next week, knocking him out and then missing games. Appealed and got off, winning a Brownlow for fairest and best and getting votes in last games. We have changed interpretations so often, from outcome, to intent, to possible outcome etc. With all the concussion talk, it will be a week for possible outcome and the opticals.

How is Pendlebury still allowed to complain to umpires non stop, now he isn’t Captain?

It is a real worry. De Koning went down just slowly walking backwards with no one near him. The surface is very shifty in places and be Sue Chris Scott will tell us all about in his presser. Concerts and sport are not good bedfellows.
