Brought a tear to my eye. On a day of emotion regarding Jim Stynes and his battle with cancer this really shows what people can do for each other. It seems so small for us to take actions rather than using these forums for opinions and retorhic but over the last 2 years I have been on here we have been able to do some fantastic things for others. From Heartland to this.... brilliant.

I would be stunned if Laidley comes within a bulls roar of us. The AFL scuttlebutt (I have no connections to anyone in the AFL) is he is being chased by a lot of clubs including clubs with big pockets. He would be a good pick up but doubt it will ever happen.

Another slow midfielder..... No his goal kicking was a feature from Powelly, I was really disappointed to see him move on.

I was at that game.... it was one of the best games the Dees have played and one of the worst all wrapped up in one. Yze was on fire slotting goals from pockets at either end of the ground if I recall.

Holy cos I agree. I doubt we will get any kind of sniff but when you look at someone like Geelong or a Collingwood they have had very few early picks in the draft recenlty and dount they will have in the near future so if they could sell it well it is not a silly idea at all. Just someone to bridge the gap between the young guys who has the potential to be a gun.

Trying to find out the same thing. He was playing pretty well earlier in the season but then dropped back to the Casey 2's now looks like he is battling to get a run in the 2's... KC or anyone else from Casey got any updates on him?

Considering we are only barely paying the minimum salary cap mandated, we are going to be "front ending" contracts to meet the minimum %, it won't be for big bucks for a few years yet either you'd think. BUT when things do turn around hopefully we will have a fair old slab of $$ in the salary cap bank we can use to add a few extra pieces to our premiership decade!

Agree. People wouldn't speak to someone else like they do on here face to face but the keyboard legends come out swinging all of the time. Interesting ideas come out of questions being asked, whether you agree or not be respectful of other Demon fans even if you don't agree or think it is a silly question/topic/idea.

Who would you "get" in return is the question not who would you want. Completely different scenario. The issue I see with us is our complete lack of mid range player with any skill or footy skills bar the likes of Davey and HI-HO Sylvia is coming along. We will have to wait for the young kids to develop which will be at least 3-4 years so think we need to really look at it and see if we can get some mid range talent. Highly unlikely but needs to be looked at.

It is quite astounding Jarka what is mentioned as a) possible trade bait (Bell, Dunn, Newton etc) and B) what round pick they think we could recieve in return. How would any side offer up anything above a late late late round pick for any of our players bar Davey or some of the recent draft picks is beyond me. AFL clubs rarely trade at all let alone want many "fill up" players now days. Most sides besides your Swans and Powers do not top up any longer they take the young kids when they can, and it will be more prevelant this year as it is the last pre-ruined draft before West Syd and GC come into steal all of the young talent.

Mate I don't think anyone besides the last 2 years draftees should be off the table to offers besides maybe Davey. Other than that we should at least entertain any and every offer for every player as we have so many needs. ha ha ha

Not trying to be rude mate but the title of your post gets a big no sheet sherlock from me. What marquee players would we get in return for those players you've offered? The only way we will get a player of any value (which I do agree with you we at least need to explore the option of trying to get a key fwd through trade) is to offer one of our draft picks from this year before the Gold Coast and West Sydney rape the draft process.

Fork have you thought of contacting Rudeboy who posts on here, he might be able to offer some assitance in getting the jumper up there as he knows Liam quite well. Also fromt eh money raised is it an idea to get it framed for the community before it is sent?

It's the Village Bell on Barkly st, across from the end of Ackland at. The section closer to Elwood is called the Daulton Bar.

There is not much point speculating as we don't know what pics we have and even if half of us had seen 3 mins of a TAC cup match our opinions will be different from the likes of the MFC on who they choose.

Good local pubs with footy. The Daulton Bar in St Kilda, The Elsternwick in you know where, also the Cricketers Arms Hotel at the bottom of Clarendon st is a ripping little pub and the owner is a mad Weagles fan.

Wonna has been 3-4 for the last 5 weeks. I take the little list with a massive grain of salt.

They were average for both sides. Grant Thomas is correct for once they need to ge better at there craft. They seem to be looking for free kicks instead of waiting to see what happens and allow play to roll on. Instead it has become a look at me exercise.

Did he get suspended for that?

3 of our 2nd term goals were from free kicks....

An area MFC should be targetting for future members. I would like to see Heartland go further as it develops over the next few years.
