Mate you've been nothing but forth coming since taking the LJ train onboard so question for you: Would Flash moving on have been an issue for LJ at all a) staying at the club abd B) staying in Melbourne (if Flash had of moved interstate, not saying he was looking too)? I know you have mentioned a number of times LJ loves being at the Dees and is very confident in himself and his ability but just interested in how he was seeing it. Cards

I'm really disappointed if true. German has really guided that young side with numerous injuries over the season into the finals and if things had of gone the Scorps way a few times a top 4 finish would not have been out of the question. I really hope the relationship between the Scorps and the Dees is sorted out ASAP. It is a two way street for the MFC and the Scorps in this relationship if it is to be sucessful.

Do not agree with that at all d-attack. In my eyes it was based on merit as he can not play then game as it is played these days. His lack of accountability in his defensive side of the game was there for all to see. He was given numerous opportunites this season to show he could improve on this and he couldn't which is unfortunate for him. He is allowed his opinion but at the same time this is the club that gave his is chance in the AFL, developed him as a player and a person for how ever many years so I do not see the benefit of negative statements about the club you played for.

Powelly wanted a big pay rise I think was the story. The list managers of the time didn't want to pay what he wanted so he left. I think in the PSD. Went to the Saints but was at his best with the Dees I thought.

Far out.. imagine being involved in the negotiations with players at MFC over the last few years.... Player A (I won't degrade anyone but I'm sure half the list could be named here) is up for contract discussions. The MFC thinks he is worth say $200,000 for 2 years but because we have to make the 92.5% of the salary cap we actually have to pay him $250k for 2 years. We would have a large volume of players getting paid over the odds on there market and club value becuase as you mentioned we have to pay someone and we have to pay 92.5% of the cap each season! oh to be out of contract this season and a required player at MFC

He does have more up side.... farr farr more upside, but then again it is hard not to have more upside than the majority of players currently on AFL lists when you're coming from so far back. He is a player I have plumped for getting as many games into him this season as possible, even though he is still relatively young for a tall fellow the lack of improvement is still there. His efforts off the ball, his tackles and chases, the 1%ers have increased no doubt but his skills have gone backwards.

It is another frustration that we will might have the No pick in PSD, means bugger all when we are dismissed out of hand for established, quality mid aged AFL players. Fringe players, Delisted or on there last legs players would be looking at us as a potential (which I think we are to smart to take up any of these no win scenarios) only. It will be satisfying in a few years where we will be able to cherry pick quality from other clubs, hopefully from the likes of Vi$$y.

I'm sorry DD but WTF? Just a statement with no facts behind it. I know nothing of the inner sanctum but seeing both Wonna and LJ play footy over there 1st seasons they will be just fine (barring injury) without Davey (not that I want him gone at all). Both seem to have an inner desire to be the best AFL footballers they can be, it would matter little if one player was at another club.

With such massive jump in pay scale I thought his stats might have refelected a visible jump in performance. I think it has more to do with his steady play... I have always thought he has played too frantic to be a reliable defender, ie he has always been able to get enough of it and foil fwd thrusts but the number of times he would seem to have time but franticly hack the ball away for a turn over and a 50/50 situation always held him back. This season his ability to read the play, toning down the frantic play and his descision making have been his improvements over other seasons.

Another fantastic read. Gives a great understanding to how far the recruiting system has come, but at the same time when you look at the Jurrah story it hasn't changed much either! Campari was such a strange ending to that cafe. Used to be in there often for "work meetings".

Spot on and he also said he thinks drafting has been a joke over the years and this year he believes there will be more trades than ever before..

I guess that sums it up and he will be signed up ASAP!
