  1. I met Don McLardy at AAMI stadium after the Port Adelaide game on Easter Sunday and he is a very impressive, genuine, intelligent man. He is devoted to the Demons and his wife, Clare, is right beside him. Jimmy considers Don to be his mentor and when we saw Don last night at an aftermatch function he was constantly answering his mobile phone calls from Jim. Jim has every faith in him and for good reason. Don cares about the club and he cares about the supporters and he always acknowledges and recognises you and me as a valuable member of a proud club. Don does work full time but he has a great capacity for work and he is able to delegate tasks efficiently. Incidentally, Don was the person who approached me and asked me to establish the Casey Demons because he wants to spread our supporter base far and wide. Don had given me fantastic support with our upcoming breakfast launch.
  2. Simon Buckley will be back in two weeks. We saw him last night at an aftermatch function and he's looking fit and training well without any groin pain. Addam Maric is being operated on this coming week.
  3. I am hoping and praying that it's just media hype but in my heart I know it's true. How terrible and what a loss for the club. Jim is Australians finest import ever. Get well soon, Jim.
  4. I am happy to donate $20 too and I'll deposit into your account if we win it. It's a really nice idea.
  5. Thanks HT. I am excited and nervous at the same time. We have great representation from the local press attending so we should get plenty of publicity. Let's hope it's all good!
  6. You have it right, Cards. It's a great stadium and dead easy to get to with public transport. I love the MCG more but in all fairness the food and beverages prices are no different between stadiums. Both venues food is priced similarly and exceedingly overpriced. I hate paying $8.50 for a plastic flute of champagne and I am tempted to refuse to pay the price but I love a glass of champers at the footy.
  7. I will, I promise. Next time we'll hold a weekend function so you can all be there.
  8. Hi Dane, Trident and others, I will be eager to tell you all about the breakfast and I will definitely let you know when we're holding functions. We sent out 650 flyers to Casey Demon supporters today so I am sure that we'll pack the Settlement Hotel!
  9. Unfortunately, vanlo, you are probably right. For some reason Melbourne supporters have always loved playes unconditionally and hated others without any good reason. Greg Healey was always canned and yet he was a great player but we embraced Ben Holland who was not in his league but could do no wrong in our eyes. Neita could get 2 possessions for the game and we'd defend his place in the side but others could have a great game and we could not see it. Chisholm was another player we didn't support and I think that Newton is being discarded a little early. I am not a fan of his but I am hoping he does well and proves me wrong.
  10. Nobody told me we could have multiple favourite players. I am going to add to my list of past and present players.
  11. You forgot Stefan Martin's great goal.
  12. Not only is Brad Green courageous, talented and inspirational, he is an exceptional young man with good manners, a beaming smile and patience. He is a fine role model for children, and a leader in every sense of the word. I would applaud a decision to make him captain after James McDonald retires.
  13. Hi Deb, Congratulations on getting your web page up and running. Unfortunately we won't be going to the game or the Pineapple Hotel afterwards, (I love going there better than the German Club) because we have our 6 month old grandson for the weekend. I will tell the rest of our group that your function is on. Cheers, Lisa and Theo
  14. I really liked the fact that there was no confusion especially when Essendon and Melbourne colours look very similar BUT it wasn't a Melbourne jumper. I kept thinking that Essendon looked more like my team, heaven forbid.
  15. Thanks, dee-luded, I love the Demons and I have been a member since I was 5 which is a hell of a long time ago. My husband and I go to almost every match including the interstate games so we are very committed to the Dees which can be hard at times. Our children and grandchildren are all Demons supporters and they share my passion so it means a lot to me that the Casey Demons are successful.
