  1. 40 days and 40 nights at least.
  2. Not quite right. Stuie went to Tassie after he left Melbourne at the premature age of 25, but he grew up in the tiny hamlet of Digby in the Western District and was recruited from Portland Football Club, the same source as Clyde Laidlaw.
  3. Voter fraud now officially confirmed in US elections.
  4. But cairns are made from stone. Strange world we live in.
  5. We'll play anyone, anywhere*, at any time. Bring it on. * May not apply to Cairns.
  6. There was a time in the early 90s when we would receive a Christmas card signed by a player (in ink) as part of our membership and I still have ones from Allen Jakovich, Rod Grinter and Stephen Tingay. These were then replaced by a card with printed autographs and one I have kept featured coach Neil Balme, Garry Lyon, Jimmy Stynes, Glenn Lovett and Tingay. I assume the practice ceased for reasons of cost, but it was a nice gesture that I appreciated receiving each year.
  7. Six foot is 1829mm, rounded up to 183cm. You shan't out-pedant ME, young man!
  8. "The Demon Drink"?
  9. If the nickname was a good one, I'd have to agree with you.
  10. According to The Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers and other sources, Charles was in in fact 182cm tall, or just a tad under six foot in the old money. That is more in keeping of how I remember him rather than him being a mere 175cm.
  11. Except for the pesky fact that Bowey rhymes with Howie and Bowie rhymes with Joey.
  12. Spare a thought for @old dee. He still associates that number with Roy Park.

Let's hope we don't get defenestrated.
  14. I wouldn't waste your time, Jaded and Hardtack. P2J is clearly an adolescent attention-seeking troll getting his jollies by continuing to post such risible nonsense in the hope of getting a reaction.
  15. B & L's other well-known hit in Australia was "Hitchhiker".
  16. Showing your age there, Macca! Their selection may explain why we overlooked the Carroll County Accident.
  17. Good to see you still have your sense of humour. As for the diehard Trump cultists:
  18. Trump and his allies have now lost over 50 post-election lawsuits: a staggeringly unsuccessful track record that reflects how flimsy - and often entirely confected - their complaints about election fraud and other supposed irregularities have been. The only fraud here is Trump himself and, sad to say Wrecker, you have been conned, taken for a ride and sucked right in by his bluster that is fuelled by an ego the size of Jupiter. You can't show us the evidence of fraud because there is none.
  19. I recently read an excellent Bowie biography written by Paul Trynka where it was confirmed that he took his name from the "bowie knife", so in his case it does rhyme with "blowy", "showy" and "Joey".
  20. Rejected by the Supreme Court in a 9 to 0 verdict. This means that even the members of SCOTUS appointed by Trump in an attempt to stack the numbers in his favour saw this for the unmitigated BS it always was.
  21. It's not just Time Magazine, either.
  22. Since Time Magazine started nominating Person of the Year in 1927, EVERY American President since then has been named at least once. Claims of "racism" and "left" are more preposterous nonsense from the usual suspects in this thread who just can't get over the fact that Biden will be inaugurated President #46 in January and loser Trump will be going to jail.
  23. Which Trump is currently losing 55 to one because his ludicrous claims have no basis in fact. Anybody still supporting him in this farce makes them look just as much of a sook and poor loser as he is.
