  1. Wouldn’t it be great if JVR were to become a stalwart of our great club, just like the Jones boy?
  2. We are too good and too proud to repeat last week’s dismal performance, and I know in my red & blue heart that we’ll bounce back strongly. There are so many incentives for us to win today, and I expect the return of our ‘never say die’ attitude to get us over the line by around 2 goals. Go Dees!
  3. I always love a debut, but this one seems extra special! Good luck young man. Go out and do yourself and the MFC proud.
  4. Well I’m old enough, and lucky enough, to have seen all of our ‘greats’ in the last seven or so decades, and I can honestly put my hand on my (❤️ & 💙) heart, and say that Clarrie is up there with the very best in my lifetime! Outstanding achievement Clas! You will be weighed down by medals around your neck, when the inevitable time comes, and you will have earned every one of them! I love your ‘never say die’ attitude! I love that you bleed ❤️ & 💙 for us, each and and every week!
  5. Fabulous interview with great insights into an area where most of us know bugger all! Thanks to Andy for organising, Bin and of course all Demonlanders who contributed questions. I loved Selwyn’s frequent references to our holistic ‘team’ approach. The interview filled me with confidence that we are in excellent hands, and up with the very best in the AFL. Go Dees! ❤️💙
  6. Love your work as usual guys! MFCSS being held at bay until at least Sunday.

The ‘Footy Gods’ are smiling on us, compared to what it might have been. So, so relieved!

‘Sigh of relief’? ……. I’m hyperventilating!

Thanks Bin. A glimmer of hope to cling to, until proven otherwise
  10. 6. Lever 5. Hunter 4. Grundy 3. BBB 2. Bowey 1. Sparrow
  11. Putting aside the farce towards the end, and our brief flurry after it, tonight we were totally dominated in every aspect of the game, including those that we pride ourselves on. How much of that was related to the injury to our skip? We will never know, but I’d say a fair bit. We looked completely ‘shell shocked’! I’m totally gutted by the result, but on a more positive note, if the Bears can turn it around from last week to this, then we can do the same next week. Do Dees!
  12. We are better than Brisbane: more even and more stars; stronger; more confident; and with a better game plan. Ruthless Dees by 6+ goals.
  13. If I can count properly, that’s 27 players. Some team-bonding /culture building going on?Great to see if that’s the reason.
  14. Great analysis as usual guys. Thank you 💘
  15. It was an outstanding win vs the Bulldogs, and in hindsight, made even sweeter by the absence of 4 of our best players. In Goodies post match presser he said that all 4 are likely to be available for our encounter with the Lions. Assuming they all prove their fitness, who comes in, and who goes out, and why? Match fitness will obviously be an important determining factor, and imo, it would be foolhardy to bring in more than one or two ‘underdone’ players for the Brisbane game.
  16. 6. Gawn 5. Petracca 4. Pickett 3. Oliver 2. Lever 1. Tomlinson
  17. Outstanding win against a fellow contender. Given no Maysie, Vines, Fritta and Salo, it tastes even sweeter. Hard to imagine a more impressive start to the season.
  18. We are on a mission in 2023, and I just know we won’t be leaving anything on the park tonight. Best of luck to our debutants, and those wearing red and blue for the first time. Dees by 4 goals.
  19. Great show thanks guys.
  20. I love the building excitement of this week, and besides, we’ve got the Demonland Season Preview poddy tonight, and that just adds to the sense of anticipation. Go Demons!
  21. In my long lifetime, and after (perhaps) one too many glasses of Shiraz: 1. Robbie (RIP) - for those who didn’t see him play, you (sadly) missed something very, very special! He was pure magic on the field, and revered by all footy fans, regardless of their allegiances. Deserves a ‘stand alone’ chapter in the history books of our sport. It’s an absolute travesty that he didn’t win a Charlie! 2. RDB - inspirational player and leader of our great Club, in (perhaps) the most dominant era of any VFL / AFL team. Shared the title of ‘Mr Football’ with the great Ted Whitten. Say no more! 3. Clarrie - only part way through an outstanding career that we’ve all witnessed first hand. The envy of every other team in the AFL …….. the type of player who makes a good team great! No need to elaborate further, I’m sure! 4. Shwarta - There have been plenty of great CHFs in my time (Hart, Walls, Brereton & Carey to mention a few) but none of them could hold a candle to ‘the Ox’ pre multiple knee recos. He could have been anything! 5. Jimmy (RIP) - an icon of our Club and our game, based on where he came from, what he achieved on the field, and who he was off the field (RIP).
  22. I just want to hear all the good vibes from our esteemed panel. Without mentioning names, there will be no room for MFCSS on this poddy. 😀😃😄
  23. I’m sure I heard a magpie chortling in the background at times during the interview (true!). Several interpretations can be placed on this phenomenon, but lMO it was giving Collingwood the ‘bird’ for letting Brodie go.
