  2. Just home from a very chilly Manuka Oval. What a win! I think it’s the most powerful and complete AFLW ‘team’ performance I’ve seen, but of course, account also needs to be taken of the quality of the opposition. Team highlights for me: - run and carry outstanding; - running to position/support, both forward, middle and back, as good as I’ve seen in the AFLW; - ability to handball out of trouble, and to advantage, has no peers that I’ve seen. It seems to have improved significantly from last year; - Kate Hore, perhaps the most complete AFLW game I’ve had the privilege to witness. Likewise, I thought her leadership (which you can only really appreciate at the ground) was high quality; - strong and reliable ‘support players’ on every line. They know their roles, and they play them really, really well, almost all of the time. Great win! The quality of the AFLW game is clearly on the rise, but IMO we are the team to beat in 2023. I can’t wait to play some of the ‘stronger’ AFLW teams to confirm our credentials, and I can only dream of an AFL and AFL Premiership in the same year.
  3. I’m expecting another powerful win to stamp our authority on the competition. Dees by 30+ points at chilly Manuka Oval (which has MCG dimensions). PS. I need a decent win to overcome my ongoing ‘Thursday Night Blues’.
  4. Clearly our forward line will need some adjustments in the unfortunate circumstances we find ourselves in. What will our forward half look like on Friday night? Also, I need a major injection of positivity. Please go to work guys!! Love the Pods!
  5. 6. Gawn 5. Petracca 4. May 3. Bowey 2. Oliver. 1. Neal-Bullen
  6. I’m gutted! We had our chances and blew them, but gee we showed some ‘ticker’ in the last. We live to fight another day, and so does the dream!
  7. Any win over C’wood is delicious, but there are no words to describe how I will feel when we win this. Dees by 20, and going away.
  8. Another outstanding Pod Guys. Thank you! You canvassed all key points relating to our up-coming encounter in the QF, and dispelled any lingering symptoms of MFCSS that I had before tuning in. Gee, even Andy was ‘slightly nervously confident’ 🙃 😀! Thanks also for your excellent summary of our great win in the AFLW. As an ‘interstater’, and very long term Redlegs Member of the MFC, I value the Pods enormously. Keep up the great work guys, and Go Demons! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  10. Seems that this one (or a very similar question) has been on the agenda for most of the season: - who will our key forwards be, now that the injury curse has once again deprived us of a ‘first choice’ player? Love your work, as always guys! It just becomes even more critical, now that we have reached the ‘pointy end’ of the season.
  11. A sensational glimpse inside the four walls of our AFLW program.
  12. Really looking forward to our season opener. I reckon the AFL have really buggered up the timing and venues for the AFLW season, but I do have to admit that this is a perfect ‘heart starter’ to Melbourne vs C’wood at the G next Thursday. I love the way that our girls ‘stuck fat’ with the team during the off season, while there were a myriad of player moves at other Clubs. What a wonderful culture we have at the MFC. Dees by 16 pts en route to back-to-back Flags.
  13. A touch of 'double standards here. Why would the Dockers be fuming? I don't recall any angst when LJ sought a trade from us.
  14. My favourite AFLW player. Huge thanks to Eliza for her determination and work ethic, and to everyone who has assisted in getting her back to where she is now. Let’s go back to back (pun intended) for Liza.
  15. A HUGE well done to all of our Demonland brothers and sisters, and everyone else whose hearts are possessed by the red and blue! Like every one of us, I’m so excited by what lies almost within touching (kicking?) distance in 2023 ……. and beyond! Imagine what Flag or two might do to our future membership tallies. Go Dees!
  16. Thanks once again @Demonland, @george_on_the_outer & @binman. It’s starting to look a bit like the Milky Way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  17. …….. and we can then use the ‘G’ as our new training base.
  18. Melbourne are a team, not a group of individuals! Who selects the selectors?
  19. He’s a ‘bread & butter’ footballer. We should target players with some honey or jam on top.
  20. Really looking forward to tonight’s Pod, as usual guys. My question relates to Disco / Tommo. Clearly they bring very different attributes, including the important criterion of ‘experience’. Is it ‘horses for courses’ depending on the opposition, or is one or the other pretty much locked in for our remaining games?
  21. 6. Viney - strong all game, and along with Petracca, turned the game in our favour when it needed to be turned. 5. Petracca - Viney’s main accomplice in turning the game our way, but had a quieter first half. 4. Fritsch - won the game off his own boot. Welcome back Fritta, but no more ‘scares’ please. 3. Neal-Bullen - continued to play his (very underrated) role to perfection. 2. Brayshaw - ‘work horse’ continuing to produce, week in, week out. 1. McVee - played like a top shelf veteran, as usual. Langdon, Hunter and Rivers also earned a mention.
