Frost may be light years ahead of Oscar but his awareness and disposal are still fairly average. Would make a great Rugger forward. Hopefully Jason Taylor and co will find a key defender who is composed with the ball and can hit targets consistently.
-
I'm not a big stats guy but I reckon when you kick all of 3 points in the 3rd quarter but let the other team kick 7.4 you aint gonna win many games.
-
Best - Spencer, Garlett Hopeless - The rest.
-
Just abysmal. 0.3 to 7.4. We look slow, our positioning and skill execution is hopeless. Take that Watts shot at goal from the boundary. Low percentage option. How about we construct a set shot from 30 metres out in the corridor.
-
Our positioning at the contest is horrendous. Too many Melbourne players ball hunting allowing Freo players hanging back free getting used every time. Amateurish.
-
If all our players are in our D50 how are we going to do anything except kick it to Freo?
-
Just very ordinary footy.
-
My kingdom for a Key Defender you can trust with the ball.
-
Frost total lack of awareness.
-
Need to hold the ball inside f50. Frost is still an average kick.
-
Watching from the couch. Dad chose a most inopportune time to have a few dizzy spells this morning and Home Doctor chose a very inopportune time to call ie during the second quarter. Still all seems well. First quarter was ordinary. Not a fan of set shots from outside 50 unless its a player with a high percentage of set shots nailed from that distance. Must have improved in second quarter until Kent decided to square the ball from the forward flank and turned it over.

Port Melbourne 'The Borough' in Financial Troubles!
demoniac replied to Demonsone's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hopefully the AFL will ensure that the standalone clubs can compete with the aligned clubs and be financially sound. They are crucial to the talent pool as they have more list spots more chances for non drafted players and late developers who were not part of the elite junior pathways. Maybe Port could license their famed game day burger. -
Is he a Pacific Islander? Be great for AFL to get more playing the great Australian game instead of league or union.

Pretty easy to book using Telstra app.
-
If you are a Telstra customer or know one check out the Telstra Thanks tix. I've used it for this and Saints game. $22 for a seat on the fence. Available for most games.
-
I reckon he will coach again at a Victorian club. Won't coach an interstate club. As for Barrett... Yawn.

Suspect the Crows will see Lever >>>>> Gibbs.
-
So we beat the Blues because Lewis hit Cripps but his absence from the next 3 games cannot be a factor in any losses? Not sure I follow that logic. Hard to see how a 22 missing Hogan and Lewis makes us stronger and gives us a better chance of winning the 4 points. As the old saying goes the most important ability is availability. Hogan is a kid so not as disappointed in him as I am in club leaders Vince and Lewis.
-
The first 3 are hardly composed or reliable with ball in hand. Keilty is an unknown quantity at AFL level. Lever would be a great acquisition if he were open to a move to the Dees and the deal could be done. Asking price would be steep no doubt.

Everyone knows the MRP is a lottery. Yep the only consistent aspect of the MRP is its inconsistency. That said Jordan Lewis' actions were just bloody stupid and I don't have much sympathy for him. It is Round 2 and his loading for his bad record which made him serve an extra week would have expired after Round 5. Its time for Jordan to realise footy has changed and he has to change. The MFC has invested significant dollars and years in him and he should understand that to repay that he needs to be on the field. Hogan was a bit unlucky but again if you make contact to the head your numbers might come up at the MRP. Don't give them the opportunity. End of story.

Winning ugly is progress. Lets hope next week we can hit up team mates 20 metres away.
-
Could get off or could get a week. The Match Review Panel is almost totally impossible to predict.

I will be thinking of a good mate and passionate BlueBagger who lost his battle with prostate cancer in late December 2015. Still hope we thrash em!

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
demoniac replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
It would have been a hard decision for the Sainters. Can see the logic in going for McCartin given how hard it is to recruit key forwards. Physically his transformation to an AFL physique is still a work in progress. Against the Eagles his footy talent was pretty obvious. It is the physical transformation required that is his issue. He does have to manage his diabetes but there are enough examples of elite athletes who have done that and performed to a high level. If he can build his physique and endurance he will be quality player.
